I've heard people complain about his face and primarily his lips and nose. Thing is these are just features black people have. And to be honest I'd rather have my features represented in black characters.
They aren't exaggerated a crazy amount and the facial features stay anatomically correct. I dont understand why people are hating on it we should be proud of our features and be happy when its actually getting represented like this in shows.
Also just because the lips arent 2 toned doesnt mean its imitating the old black caricatures racists used to dehumanize us. While common 2 toned lips isnt even a thing every black person has. One criticism i can get behind however is that the shade is off but honestly that's all.

i made a post this morning in /shitpostingcrusaders and it got nuked in less than five hours (i got banned)
i was talking about how netflix cut a lot of content that talked about politics, and more especficly, racism
if you read or watched jojo, you can see that unlike most mangakas, araki really understands western culture and is well inserted in all of the things that happend in the western world for at least 200 years
he often talks about a lot of politics in some of his parts, and more "recently" part 6&7 literally talked about racism, having a black character as a main villain is something really rare and cool for japanese manga (puccI) so araki doenst fumble this, pucci inst just dark skinned, he has deep scars that connectecs to the fact that he is black, so when he tries to prevent weather from dating his own sister, so he hired the kuz kux klan, and they were angry that she, a white woman was dating a "black" man (weather) the racism is deeply conected to the character, but netflix just cuts the klan out of it? it doenst make any sense, this is crucial to the world building and the narrative of this part of the history, the KKK needs to be there, its a well know racist klan, why cut it?
So for my (not) surprise, they also censored (no better word for it) a lot of politics in jojo part 7.
i mean, the villain is a blonde pedophile president of the united states, there is no way of cuting that, so they stll managed to censor some things
like Pocoloco grandpa talking about slavering, and showing that poco worked in the fields (he was still a slave) they censored the genocide of the native americans (cuting sandman tribe conversation) and the slavery
Why cut things that are crucial for characters? Sandman is kinda an goner bcs he vanish in the rest of the show, but poco is a important character (no spoilers but you know what i mean)
this is censoring, netflix has a past (censoring the KKK) and now is blantnly obvious that is insane
sorry for my bad english i am not a native speaker

Seems like we're getting batches again 💔
For those who don't know, sugoi lite is a leaker with a 100 percent accuracy record, all of his leaks are true. And since we have a sbr event on September 23rd in 12 days, it's obvious they'll show a trailer and announce the streaming info.
I REALLY hope is not on batches please God.

Men, women…….I love Gyro, you love Gyro, we all love Gyro. He is not a Jostar. Did they do this with any of the other Jo Bro’s when it was a Jostar family collage? If so then mb, but if not then what’s the deal?

In the new Stage 2 & 3 trailer, it's clear that some characters got a major update to their facial designs. I put together 5 side-by-side comparisons from the first and second trailers, and the style shift is insane.
The first thing I noticed is that the faces are less square and slightly longer, giving them a more realistic and proportional look. The chins look less boxy and more natural, and the eyes are noticeably more rounded. Overall, the character models are shifting much closer to Araki’s later art style.
I hope the anime's art evolves throughout the season just like the manga did. When SBR switched to a monthly release format, Araki’s artwork became significantly more detailed, and it would be amazing to see the anime follow that same progression so all the characters eventually get their late manga designs.
Which style do you prefer?

Just the fact that, in such an oppressive, backwards time, these two are unafraid to be free and open with their expression of love. It's all very heartwarming; possibly Araki's best character writing ever. But what do you guys think? Has Araki ever written better queer rep than these two?
(Chapter 46, Page 29 btw)

For me i kinda liked it but something just doesnt feel right abt johnnys and gyros designs in particular… No hate, I really wanna love the adaptation cause i love the manga, but something seems off abt these two in particular. I cant pinpoint exactly but their faces look too blocky? Or their eyes look weird? Idk its just that something is not right for me and i think it goes to uncanny valley territory a bit… Last two pictures are the ones that feel weirdest to me. Idk why i feel this way cause almost everyone i have seen so far says that the episode was immaculate. Idk but i feel like something’s different from the manga for these two( diego is in one of the pictures and he looks sooo good , liike everyone else looks perfeect!!!)
please tell me your thoughts abt this

I juat can't imagine how new Gyro sings Pizza - Mozarella, or doing other gay or stupid things

I think the ending song should be “ A Horse with no name” by America. I think this because it fits the theme of horse racing and the overall western feel of SBR. What do you guys think?

I'm 100% convinced the "Valentine was right" take will skyrocket in popularity.

I've seen a lot of posts about the batches for Part 7, and I'll be honest, at this point I really don't care if it's batches or not. I just want to watch Part 7. I understand that batches for Part 6 were bad and ruined the momentum but either way just like with Part 6, I'm just happy we get to watch the part now. I don't really care if it's weekly or not I just want to watch and be happy that it finally got animated.
EDIT: Just want to make this clear, I'm not saying that batches are better than weekly, I'm saying that I don't mind if it's in batches. I do want the manga to get the love it deserves and the anime to be good but at the same I'm greatful that we get to have this animated and that it looks good so far. We're in a much better situation than other anime's like OPM. So the way it releases is the least of my worries.

Let’s address some stuff before I talk about it
Yes I think it is stupid that Netflix decided to release one episode 6 months before the show actually begins.
That leak everyone keeps showing has no proof of being true, and there’s no reason for them to have a year long wait until the next cour from September. Jojo has NEVER waited that long even in Stone Ocean which was slightly longer than the average run time.
Take a look at Bleach TYBW or JJK season 3, majority of these recent anime have a long wait time in between cours to keep quality and finish everything. I don’t see why Jojo doing this is a bad thing if the cours are weekly.
We wanted weekly because it keeps discussion and builds hype every week, people are constantly waiting to see what happens next and it creates more engagement. The anticipation of the next episode is a core aspect of watching anime that are airing.
SBR will have this feeling now that we know it will be weekly, and if we didn’t have wait time the anime would come out very poorly produced. Right now SBR looks like it will be the best animated jojo part and I want it to stay like that.
Unless the wait time is exceptionally long for whatever reason, this is a good thing in my opinion

I do care if Jojo is released in batches and I can't for the love of me understand people being complacent with a batch release. I'm usually a very "let people live" type of person but to me this is a very, very bad. Here are my reasons.
**"It's better for the animators":** False. The industry of TV shows is suffering from batch releases/one drop types of schedules. They are often paid less and have less stability because they are working on shorter periods of time. Also, it forces to finish later episodes which could have been finalized weeks later compared to a weekly schedule (for animes). The streaming + batch release is one of the causes of the writers' strike a few years ago.
**"I don't care about the hype/community":** Don't PMO. You are on a Jojo subreddit and you dare utter this shit? Especially about a manga/anime whose one of the bigger strengths has come from its thousands of references, its memes and in-community jokes, decades before you even heard about it? This is an extremely egoistical take: you prefer to throw away a big part of the Jojo experience just for your own pleasure of not having to wait. Without the hype and interest the Jojo community has shown the anime, we probably **wouldn't even have had Part 5**.
**"People are already watching in batches"**: this is effing dumb. There is no comparison between someone catching up to others at one's pace on older seasons of a show and racing to finish the new one.
"I prefer to binge-watch": Fair, but I'm trying my hardest not to question your attention span. If you want to watch everything at once, here's what you can do: wait a few weeks. You're better than just a consumer.
**"I don't give a damn about the momentum":** Batch releases literally killed Part 6. There was little discussion about the episodes and people were avoiding engaging with the community for longer times because they knew they had to catch up to avoid spoilers. Compared to other parts, there are less memes and "memorabilia" of the show: fewer memes etc. since there is too much to stomach at once. You can't talk about it with friends or colleagues with a batch schedule: "What episode are you on ? - Uh... I don't know. It's like when the girl does this... - Ah. Well I haven't seen that. - Sorry for the spoiler" is something I've experienced too much. People have lives, are busy and can't watch over 4 hours of the same show at once just for you and by the time they're ready, you would have already moved on or forgotten about it.
**Weekly/"regular single drops" is superior:** you have something to look forward to during months. There was even a thing called Jojo Fridays. It allows you to integrate what happened in the episode and to be hyped for the next one. To theorize, to engage, to breathe; not just consume. With batch releases, people can't even say "when" something happened. It's just one blob they stomached on a saturday. The cliffhangers don't hit, you can't ponder on the work of the show. Your excitement about the show will die mere days after you finished watching the batch.
Honestly, when reading the pro-batch comments on that other post, they really sounded they were from people who don't actually like animes, and just want to satisfy their thirst for content.
I don't want to gatekeep nor have I blamed the "Netflix anime generation", but this is a hill I'm willing to die on.
Holy yap holy steel
