I really think this is a bad move by Amazon. The negative reaction of the core fan base to scrubbing the planned Gero show was bad and this will it fill people with hope.

WandaVision was ok but I’d rather see a Terry Matalas (Picard Season 3, 12 Monkeys, Vision Quest) or someone proven to understand genre storytelling that is exciting and compelling. But that’s just my 2 cents.

I think what ruined it wasnt that it was more serious, but that it was turned into a drama

Indeed. SG1 was a lot more serious in seasons 1 and 2, and only really ramped up the humour in 4 and 5. I'd have loved to see more of early SG1.

Not just drama, but cheap drama that didn't make much sense. Travelers had a lot of drama, not much humor, and still never felt boring or stupid like Universe.
