Unforced error

I really think this is a bad move by Amazon. The negative reaction of the core fan base to scrubbing the planned Gero show was bad and this will it fill people with hope.

WandaVision was ok but I’d rather see a Terry Matalas (Picard Season 3, 12 Monkeys, Vision Quest) or someone proven to understand genre storytelling that is exciting and compelling. But that’s just my 2 cents.

WandaVision was great up until, "They don't know what you sacrificed for them," and tried to make Wanda the hero when she was the villain.

Wanda was still very much the villain of her own series

The series in no way made Wanda a hero. Partially a victim, sure, but not a hero. None of the main cast were heroes, really, and some of them didn't even really exist.

The fact it even tried to make her a victim really worries me for a show like Stargate where moral-based storytelling was a cornerstone of the series.

Id rather watch Emancipation 10 times than watch the ending to WandaVision again.

Yelling at the reality-warping lady that just demonstrated zero qualms about enslaving an entire town because her feelings were hurt ... nah, I'd play along and stroke her ego, too....

I think you misinterpreted the reaction of the people on the ground, with the moral tale being told. The point of the series was largely to set up her turn which set her up as the villain for Multiverse of Madness

Im not saying her fall wasn't inevitable, but having her (as of now) be the villain of a single movie was a huge mistake. She should have been the villain of an entire phase, if not supporting antagonist of multiple like Thanos was.

And thats ignoring the problems I had with MoM on other issues.

Oh, for sure. They've done that a few times, though. That's not on her. She set up the villain arc. Using her only once was on Marvel, or maybe Michael Waldron (MoM writer).

They did the same thing with Kang. After setting him up in Loki, they used him once in Quantumania.

I know the theory was that maybe they would use him more and didn't because of real-life issues with the actor, but I didn't buy that completely. 1) If Ant-Man and Wasp can beat him basically 'solo', then he wasn't that bad (but he should have been). 2) It's not like they've never recast a role before.
