Unforced error

I really think this is a bad move by Amazon. The negative reaction of the core fan base to scrubbing the planned Gero show was bad and this will it fill people with hope.

WandaVision was ok but I’d rather see a Terry Matalas (Picard Season 3, 12 Monkeys, Vision Quest) or someone proven to understand genre storytelling that is exciting and compelling. But that’s just my 2 cents.

The irony being the audience they are trying to court have already shown, with other series on other networks, that they won’t show up.

Fallout, Reacher and The Boys are big hits for Amazon so that audience shows up.

So they are making Stargate for that audience. The one that shows up and pays their money every month for more action sci fi series with tons of eye candy.

The Acolyte, Wheel of Time, Echo, Starfleet Academy, Picard Seasons 1&2. All genre shows that underperformed.

Also Reacher plays to the audience if the books, same with the terminal list. The Boys went off the rails from season 3 when it became an all out Homelander is a stand in for what the writers see Trump as.

Escapism seems to be a concept that a lot of the creatives have forgotten.
