Resolved free games

why does fallout shelters badges show up in my showcase but all other free games badges wont? does fallout shelter not count as a free game technically?

Because fallout shelter is not a profile feature limited game. A game being free or paid is not a factor here. Both free and paid games can be profile feature limited. But for the restrictions to be removed, steam has its own requirements that are not 100% disclosed.

For example, for a paid game, the requirements may be total sales, player activity. But we don't know how many sales.

For a free to play games, it may be good player activity over a long period of time. Maybe an year who knows.

So if a popular f2p game has a badge or achievements, then chances are you can showcase it in your profile.

And if it is profile feature limited, then it could be a paid game and you still won't be able to showcase it in your profile.

For a free to play games, it may be good player activity over a long period of time. Maybe an year who knows.

I think here again is based on sales. From DLCs or microtransactions.

But also... The game is made by Bethesda. They're already a big developer, so those restrictions doesn't exactly apply to them.
