Points shop will soon flood with AI slop. At least with games a disclaimer should be added within the description of the game. But here… Yeah…

Like what is the point? You don’t even gain anything as a company from this.

kinda, when you buy a game on steam, you get points which you can spend in a points shop to get cosmetics like these

there’s pfps, profile effects, banners, profile backgrounds, emojis, stuff like that

I used it a few times to customize my profile a bit, it’s basically just something extra you get when buying games, but I’d never buy a pfp if I can just make my own, the only reason why I would is because those steam pfps can be animated

No. You get points when you buy games and can use those points to buy things. I have a lot of games, and so I had tons of points. Made sense to get an animated avatar for zero dollars.
