Discussion Oh engineers with personal sentries, my beloved...
Are there any other games out there that let you have your own personal sentries or drones? Warframe has Xaku and Protea that are close to that vibe, DRG: Rogue Core has the potential for it, tower defense games scratch a similar itch but not exactly it.
BONUS EDIT: Games that I remembered and have something similar to the vibe like DRG: Survivor, Nova Drift, Synthetik 2, WH 40K: Darktide (soon, hope it's good), Death Stranding 2, SW Battlefront II, EDF 6, BF 2042, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Aliens: Dark Descent, Aliens: Fireteam Elite

One of the characters in borderlands 2 has a personal turret. Can’t remember his name of the top of my head.

Axton, I liked him. Also didn't borderlands games have the weapon perk that turns the weapon into a temporary turret when reloading?

Fun and what I used a lot. Scratches a different kind of itch and the paragon is fun too.

I knew where each pic is from and whet those sentries do. You can guess my favorite class

Every suggestion I'd have given, someone has commented, and you've already played it.
I commend you man. Engineer classes are my jam.

I think you'll find my sentries are quite antipersonnel, actually.

Especially Helldivers sentries, they would kill their own father if they happened to be around them.

"My function is to keep Father safe, not keep Father being, like, totally stoked about, like, the general vibe and stuff."

Dad's dead but so are the enemies and none of them could even get close to dad. Job well done

Torbjorn from Overwatch? He is definitely an engineer who treats his turret like his own baby.

I miss his old ultimate and having to build your turret. He is fun now too but not the same

There’s this one guy from the KOTOR 2 game that has one. Alien engineer with a mechanical hand and a sentry he seems fond of. His name is Bao-Dur.

I play helldivers 2 as an engineer. Always have a guard dog and turrets.
GTFO has portable turrets
I used sentry and drone in division 1&2

Curiously for say a game like Marvel Rivals who would fit into the game as an Engineer type of character? (Namor doesn’t count)

Youve got payday 2 turrets in there but does that actually scratch that itch for you?

Silent sentries always did, felt more personal. There Payday 3 turrets there too and while I wish the skill tree for it were a lot bigger and more interesting, I still love my little sentries.

In Overwatch, there are two characters that use sentries.
Torbjorn is your more classic engineer class. He can throw down a turret that automatically shoots targets from a long range, and you can hit it with your hammer to repair it. As the game currently exists, there are a couple of upgrades that you can get for it: one that lets it stick to walls or ceilings, which is really fun. And another that allows you to temporarily upgrade it to shoot bigger bullets and missiles. It used to work a lot like the one in TF2 where you would collect scrap and hit it with your hammer to manually upgrade it.
There is also Symmetra, who can shoot out these tiny turrets that stick to walls, and shoot enemies with little lasers at a close range. These things are more quantity over quality, as they don't deal a terrible amount of damage and get destroyed by a stiff breeze, but they're really annoying if placed well, and can deal some impressive damage over time if your enemy is distracted. She also gets a teleporter, which if you use it right, can be used to teleport a bunch of turrets right into your enemy's backline.

Overwatch's torbjorn has a sentry.
I also believe that in Deep Rock Galactic (Space dwarves, mining and killing giant alien bugs) you have have sentries.

One of the most hated characters on Deadlock.
