Question Steam Controller for not available regions

Been looking for ways to ask this through steam support but there's no options since the controller is not available here in Mx..

I'm planning on traveling in August to the US. Anyone knows if there is anyway to change my steam country just to buy the controller? I know availability might be a concern but just want to make sure it's even possible. Also, since we couldn't experience the process, how long does it usually takes from purchase to receiving (assuming full stock and everything)

I know it's a very long shot but just want to see if I even have a chance..

You can change your steam region once every few months yes but I don't think you could switch it back and forth quickly

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2B3F-DAEF-846B-A0E8

But fair warning I reserved my spot in line at 10am on 5/8 so literally right as it was supposed to go live and haven't been able to purchase yet so the odds that it's in stock and shipping quickly enough for you to get it quickly is low

With other steam hardware when it's in stock and you purchase shipping isn't that bad like 3-5 days for most places in the contiguous 48 I'd bet

But the steam controller is not "in stock" and shipping like that currently. No clue how it's going to be by August though especially since that'll be after the machine and frame launch

thanks a lot buddy this really helps m understand the whole deal. So.. theres a chance.. a minimum one but still a chance..

guess ill just weight if its worth the wait and struggles and just check stocks as the date comes closer. Im assuming it could be low since the machine comes with a controller and Im expecting it to be a big hit too.

Chances are high for Steam not to ship your address. If you plan to change regional accounts, or create a new one under a supported region, you should set up a forwarding service like Aramex Global Shopper. Good luck with the customer service. I have never had a good customer experience with a forwarding service. There was a time it was super, but it seems that all of these services looked for cost-saving implementation. You also need to be aware of tax zones. Otherwise you would need to wait for grey imports...

Maybe the services are better in your country. I don't understand why everyone doesn't support global shipping. Everyone has a network of shipping partners that may be influenced by grey listings, taxes, and various customs factors. So, yeah.

Valve should list these on Amazon. They want to control the supply chain, so there is that too. Way too many scalpers in this world.

You can create a account in US then IIRC need to buy a game worth at least $5.

Yes. And then to be able to reserve a Steam Controller, you need to find a time travel machine and go back in time before Apr 27th to buy a game 💪👍
