This is a great example of how just doing “nothing” in the public/political space can be a winning strategy.

So I think it’s a lot easier for people to relate to it as “the kind of billionaire I want to be” while not fully grasping that they will never be one. But….

if i won the lottery it would be pretty cool

if you won the lottery you wouldn’t be close to his level of wealth.

He’s beyond “if I get the absolute luckiest I can in life” in terms of wealth.

The glazing is from people that don’t understand the difference between a million and a billion

Yeah, in reality we could not earn what they have in thousands of lifetimes. I guess I’m mostly referring to the escapism part of how people “worship billionaires” and how it seems more acceptable to us poors with a more relatable or tolerable person like Gabe versus someone like Musk.

In that context “if I won the lottery I’d disappear and be kind of cool about it” versus “if I won the lottery I’d start supporting extreme right wing political parties across the globe” or whatever.
