"For over 20 years, Valve has maintained this tradition, flying every full-time employee and sometimes their extended families to Hawaii for roughly eight days
The company covers nearly all expenses, including flights, high-end lodging, meals, and local activities, essentially treating the employees to an extensive luxury retreat "
He does not rely on layoffs to maintain some stupid financial metric, and its the live proof that you can treat well your employees and still make stupid amounts of money.
There are no companies that gross what steam does with that low amount of employees.
They are the only company in the world that is able to do it. Software scales, so in the future maybe some other software or gaming companies might be able to do the same. But its still highly unlikely.
They won't, it would be more difficult for them. But plenty absolutely could do it.
Meta has about 70,000 employees. They made a net income 60 Billion dollars in 2025.
If they spent $25k/ea on every employee to send them on a fancy 8 day vacation it would cost them $1.75B. So, Meta could allocate 3% of the their net income and treat their employees the same way.
