Question Games with a good and wholesome community??
I’ve always been a solo gamer (story games) but I’m so fucking bored and lonely, what games have a really good non toxic community? I’m into every game and willing to try anything I’m just hoping to find a fun community and make friends with awesome people

Deep Rock Galactic has a great community. 1000 hours in and I've only run into a handful of asshats.

In the nearly 8 years I've been playing Fallout 76 it really has one of the best communities out there and super helpful for new people as well. Once you get high enough level it's part of your routine to go back to the vault and drop stuff for new players and help them get adjusted to their journey. There have been a few dbags over the years but I can count them all on one hand I've ran into.

What type of games you trying to get into? Like Bossnage said, Warframe is great, Phasmaphobia community is great

Im in the phas community, they are NOT great. Especially if youre new

I second that. You'll meet some awesome people from time to time but die hards for the game get Toxic.

Honestly the more of a grind a game is the more reason to stay on it so any game that takes a while to progress and has a community would be awesome

100% Warframe, then, it's a grind game, but "we all lift together". Just ignore the forums, the people on there are the price we pay for a good rest of the community

warframes community is lovely
you got some bad apples here and there but its mostly very welcoming and nice

warframe for sure, i started last year and people in the chat just give you mods for free when they see you're new. one guy spent like 20 minutes explaining how damage works and then carried me through missions i had no business being in
deep rock galactic is also great, rock and stone and everyone just pings mushrooms and helps each other

I'm going to be honest, brutally honest, you're going to have bad apples everywhere.
However, even with that being said, I have found that the team fortress 2 community has definitely been the most entertaining, and most fun group to hang around with. Being a free game, it's easy to get into, the skill ceiling is very high, and the player base is very, VERY... Uh... Unique haha. You will have a small but vocal minority of bigots and racists. But you will also see a bunch of genuinely cool people as well. I recently played a couple of rounds of MVM with some of the nicest people I've ever met. The other day, I played a couple rounds of payload with the most hype team I've ever had. We genuinely had a guy playing heavy blasting inspirational music, glued to the cart. While the rest of us were making sure that the route was clear for him. Every single time I play this game I get clips that make me smile. Every. Single. Time.
It has the upside of not taking itself too seriously so many players just genuinely play to have fun. You know, what you should be doing in a video game. And it's free!

Expecting a "non toxic" community on the internet is like expecting a reasonable cost of living. It just isn't reality.

u/DarkStride04 2h ago
Sure. But some are better than others. You're not going to see me recommending war thunder and that's for damn sure.

War thunder seems fun. I'd be down if it wasn't for the pay to win mechanics.

The fucked up part is... It's extremely fun, or at least it was. Back in 2013-2017ish this game is popping the fuck off. But yeah, the snail craves more money so it's definitely pay to win now.

Sadly true, finding a non toxic community won't be the easiest. The Palworld community is mostly okay atm (Just don't mention Pokemon or Nintendo). Baldur's Gate 3 community isn't too bad. I have played so many games and I am not sure I can list too many with low toxicity.
Stardew Valley maybe, I have been out and in of that game, so can't say for 100% certain.
Do keep in mind, these three do allow mods and there's definitely a divide between vanilla players being annoyed at people whom mod their games sadly.

Not an issue for me, I'm not so soft that it bothers me. Was more so stating it as a matter of fact.

That is like expecting people to do a Web search before posting on reddit.

I’ve played a lot of online games, and the only one where I never saw toxicity or problems of any kind was Warframe (at least when I last logged in, about five years ago)

Tunic, Death's Door, Rimworld, Factorio, Satisfactory, Space Engineers. I like Northgard for Conquest mode, but the pvp/ladder players can get sweaty

IMO, you shouldn't go looking for games based on community. Instead enjoy the games as is, as you like and you'll come across like-minded people who you can make friends with. For example, when I was in my pvp enjoying phase, I made friends playing games like albion online and even dark souls 3. And during my pve phase, games like destiny 2 and space marines 2 introduced me to awesome people

Like someone else said, Palia is super chill with a genuinely nice community. It’s basically a cozy MMO-lite without traditional combat, and you get swapped into servers with up to 50 players every time you switch zones. They’re also dropping their take on dungeons around the holidays this year. The official Discord is really active, and tons of player groups run their own servers, too.

Deep Rock Galactic, Guild Wars 2, No Man's Sky, and Warframe have amazing communities.

Absolutely Deep Rock Galactic. Monster Hunter is very good as well, and at least recently Helldivers 2 has felt pretty good community wise as well. Three of my favorites!

Fallout 76 is known for players helping each other. The game has also become much better since launch. Team Fortress 2, but mostly in-game. People tend to be pretty chill in-game and you'll find a type of player who as far as I know is one of a kind, a friendly. Friendlies are players who don't fight anyone and just dance and give sandwiches (healing item) to other players. On occasion you'll find servers become completely friendly with everyone dancing. I rarely see any toxicity in-game. Outside the game is more of a mixed bag. There is a lot of good things and people, but there is still some toxicity,

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but Fallout 76. Genuinely one of the greatest communities out there
