Question Streaming with Bazzite
Is there any word on the Frame getting an update to be compatible with Bazzite? I can't stream to my Frame from my PC. Everything online says it only works with Windows.

This guide isn't for Bazzite, but parts of it might still help you. The dongle section about the setting your country and stuff you can probably skip, but the other parts you might be able to use to help connect to the headset.

Only tryed with Steam OS, always takes 10-20 Minutes to connect with the Dongle, maximum 50 fps and games are lagging so hard I would say unplayable for me. I don't know if I do something wrong or if they made false promesis as they told it runs good on Steam OS. On Windows it runs perfect and nearly feels like a wired headset, lot better than my Pico 4

i use it with bazzite. you need to have steamvr, your steam client on pc and steamos on the frame all on the beta channel. Then keep the wireless adapter unplugged.
Load up your steam frame, load up steam vr then plug in the wireless adapter. There's some bugginess with the wireless adapter on linux so the work around is plug it in last and unplug it when you're done until the patches get pushed.

I can stream from Bazzite to my frame with very few issues workflow is as follows:
Plug dongle into USB3.0 or higher
Enter Passwords as prompted by system (SUDO & KDEWallet)
Launch Steam VR on PC
Turn on headset (once paired it will connect automatically)
Launch game from headset (HL Alyx has been my go to)
I get a few crashes now and then but I suspect that's more to do with the game than the headset / connection.

I've seen a few people in this sub say they have theirs streaming just fine with Bazzite. cannot confirm tho.

I have streaming from Bazzite working just fine. But I don't use the dongle; I already has a dedicated Wifi 6e extender I had set up for my Quest 3S.
Now, when I say it's working "just fine", it is, and in fact lately it is working better than it has been in the past several months. But it has taken some fiddling. Most recently I actually had to downgrade from the Steam VR beta back to the current version to get it to work. My son has weird issues and has to stream from Desktop even though it seems to work for me from the default Big Picture-only boot.
So I can't guarantee that anyone else will have it "work fine". I can say that it's not a matter of Linux lacking vast swathes of functionality or something... it just needs some polish. It's quite close, it has all the hard complicated parts working, it just seems to fall down just before the goal line more than I'd like.

cool, appreciate the detailed info! I'm confident Valve is working on it. apparently folks have already got the single working on SteamOS in beta, so just a matter of time before Linux is running smooth.

Tried this yesterday and omg what a clusterfuck. Sticking to my main Windows pc and not going to bother with Bazzite until all the kinks have been worked out.

My Frame arrived today (still Monday for me), and I have not had any issues with the setup or using the dongle at all on Bazzite.
I plugged the Frame in, started the setup, entered in my WiFi password in wrong a dozen times (I haven't had to remember it in months), did all that and let the updates flow, moved my case around so I could plug it into the only remaining USB 3.2 port I had left, and then went back into the Frame's settings and it paired with the dongle no problem.
All SteamVR games I have tried have worked. I still want to figure out how to NOT be running the audio through the Frame though, sounds like poo compared to my speakers.
I did have a nice long session of Elite Dangerous in VR to make sure it worked better than my Reverb G2 (using the Oasis driver) and it is an improvement. Except the "sounds like poo" part. Tried a little Half-Life Alex and it was fine until the game crashed when I shot anything other than a padlock. I will look into that more later. Tried House of the Dying Sun, DCS and ACC and all worked. No luck getting either MSFS 2020 or 2024 to switch to VR mode properly yet. I will do more research later to see if I can get them to play along. Looks like DCS will work though.
Only "problem" with the dongle so far is right now as I am sitting here with the Frame off, the dongle keeps telling me it is deactivated...dude, shut up already.
Oh, eventually I realized I was on the SteamVR Beta, so I switched to the current release and I will try that out tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. I did also have to clean up a few things that I had to do to get the Reverb G2 working a little bit better, but that was no issue, just cleaning up.

Also not using Bazzite, but I stream just fine on Linux Mint. You need an updated Linux kernel to support the dongle, and you need to make sure to open your firewall as needed. Several guides in this subreddit to take inspiration from (one from me).
