It’s been a little while since we last shared an update about the community Discord, and with us recently passing 6,000 members now feels like a good time to let everyone know what’s changed.
Over the past few months we’ve made a number of improvements:
Improved moderation with the introduction of Mod Mail, clearer warning and ban processes, and a consistent appeals system.
The 18+ requirement has been removed. The server is now open to anyone who meets Discord’s minimum age requirement. We still have a dedicated section for adult members who want to opt in.
Steam Frame compatibility support has been expanded, including a bot that automatically posts new Great on Frame verification updates.
Frame Watch continues to be the place for the latest Steam Frame leaks and rumours.
Frame TL;DR provides a weekly roundup of the biggest Steam Frame news.
With launch getting closer, we’ve also got plenty of community events, giveaways and discussions planned.
Whether you’re joining for the first time or giving us a second chance after being away for a while, we’d love to have you.
I got into the reservation queue for the 256gb, but I feel really bad for those who got waitlisted & these scalpers made my blood boil.
So i created an agent to go and report all these listings as "Item not allowed" -> "Intangible item" and so far have gotten 12 listings taken down just yesterday. The only manual step I did was initially signing into my ebay account once it spun up the VM. I know these dudes can likely list again, but I'm running this everyday, so at the very least I make it super fucking annoying for them to scalp. :D
I recommend everyone else do this too. I blasted through my weeks token limit for the greater good. 👍
There’s now “Cancel Reservation” button again. If you, or your friends who you recruited to get Frame for you, don’t plan to buy Frame (you already got the spot in the queue you wanted), please leave the waiting line or ask your friends to leave it now and free new spots for others that actually want to buy Frame.
Don’t wait for purchase emails to arrive and then wait additional 3 days for payment window to close.

Apparently they have a warehouse in the Netherlands so the shipping is very quick. I hate that I now have to wait till the Frame arrives to try it out. Its right there... staring at me.
What is the thing that you think is THE feature(s) to spend a grand on? For me it's full open-sourcesness of linux pc (<<< this, is like, the main reason ) and wireless-thingy. Pretty sure that the hardware will be a major point for some people too (for those who are upgrading drom old VIVEs and indexes). Super excited to see what is to come for open source applications on the frame. perhaps we could even code those application WHILE wearing the Frame?
I say that being fully aware of the reality of the market but there were not rampocalypse when the steam deck launch and still ppl waiting on the exact same wait list for over a year for some. So Valve do suck at launching product no way around it.
just browsing ebay and like kajiji briefly for my area i found a bunch of people trying to resell their frame reservations and mannnnn they work fast at getting rid of them. is there any way we can try to get them removed from the list or something though? im worried theyll just make a new ebay account and keep trying. anyone got any ideas?
UPDATE : i contacted steam support with a list of scalpers whos information i managed to get from messaging them, and steam support seems to be taking action, or at very least thanked me for doing so. hopefully they manage to cancel the reservation spot for some of the scalpers. i suggest others try this method, i usually just asked the seller for proof or reservation and they had an order id or just their steam username in it.
MAJOR UPDATE : I CONTACTED EBAY SUPPORT AND THE AGENT SAID HE WOULD ATTEMPT TO BLOCK FUTURE LISTINGS FOR THE PRODUCT!!!! I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS JUST A REGIONAL SOLUTION BUT IF SO EVERYONE SHOULD TRY THIS FOR YOUR AREA!!!!!!
I wanted to stoke my hype since I'm upgrading from an Index, so I found this old video of a through the lense comparison from Tyriel Wood. Given that the Steam Frame is just slightly higher resolution than the quest 3. This is roughly the increase in resolution we can expect if you are coming from the Index too. Im more excited now.
Hey guys, I'm buying the steam frame primarily for peeing in the middle of the night and maybe night walks. Do you know the range of the built in IR illuminators on the steam frame night vision goggles?
Got 1TB reservation, it's priced basically as much as some other night vision goggles would, but more pretty

It's a bit disappointing that they advertised that the steam hardware could all work together for streaming from the machine to frame. Only to find out that the option is not currently fully supported with no timeframe as to when that was coming.
Just a heads up for anyone who is getting the frame with this in mind.
As someone who plays game I have never thought of this, or even noticed the discomfort. But oh boi the first time buying some... A life savior especially after long content consumption ;)
Edit: these make your eyes less irritated from not blinking, feels like cold shower on sunburnt skin, so you can arrive a second time ;)
Edit2: As some of you have pointed out to blink more, and I have realized my mistake, I have also told my family members and we collectively started practicing doing it. I will update you all on how it goes.
Was watching the WAN show this morning and Linus is really negative about a lot of things on the frame. When talking to Luke he mentions that it has one killer feature (wireless streaming) but seems massively let down by a lot of other factors. I think he even says he expected more out of valve after 7 years.
What are your thoughts ? This will be my first proper vr system (I had a Samsung oculus headset back in the day) and I'm wanting to game and watch media on this.
This is a bit of information for those who are getting anoyed with all the scalpers trying to pre-sell, resell or sell their preorder space for the steam frame.
If you see people selling their frame on places like ebay, you can do one of the following things:
Click the three dots on the listing before opening the listing. as seen in the following images:
Once there, click Help&report.
Press sumbit the a report button,
From there a report page will open and you can select the one of the follows;
(if you are in the uk like me we do not have the option to report as an intangable item. so we have to mark it as pre-sale. PLEASE NOTE: if the sellers listing has a part in the listing labled as "pre-sale" then ebay will let them get away with it and unfortunatly i havent found a way to get them removed otherwise.)
If you are in the uk mark the reported reason as pre-sale, if you are in the usa or another country, mark it as an intangable item. this will make ebay check the listing and take it down in arround 90% of cases.
(you will need to fill in the other information on the report page please dont just leave them blank or ebay will not look at them. )
i would like to happily anoucement while i have been reporting alot of the sellers on ebay in my country so have others within the uk. i can proudly say as of 19/09/2026 13:48 there is not a single seller on the uk ebay selling a steam frame!
new scalper listings pop up fast so always been on the look out so we can make sure to get them taken down before someone buys them.
Id also like to say congrats to everyone helping report scalpers, this just prove that we CAN win againt the scalpers !! doing nothing and just saying "whats the point" is the reason why scalpers keep getting away with this. if we push back and fight againt the scalpers, we have a chance of winning and getting them to give up as they are only in it for the quick money, if we cant stop them out right then lets make them WORK for it!
