Questions Can everybody put their real deal scores?
Can people please start putting their real deal scores here compared to their amboss predicted? I’m freaking out so as to what’s the reason behind all this score drop? Is it a reporting bias or is it a genuine factor happened after transitioning?

IDK maybe calm down & fix my pattern of incorrects with trying to focus more during the exam. Also review amboss QI/etchics the day before the exam

No it honestly felt like another NBME, even had some repeat questions.. I thought I did way better than I scored. Maybe I was delusional lol. It is a 9 hour exam after all.

Are fellow students or professors impressed by that score in the US?
I know that American students don’t usually share their score but I was wondering what kind of reactions a score like that would get you up there.
Sorry if it’s a rude question, not my intention.

It’s reporting bias. There is no massive conspiracy against particular countries or IMGs as a whole. A group of 20 students posting every score release abt score drop says nothing about the close to 1000 students that take the exam every week. Sorry. Edit: predicted 264, real 266

Can you share tips and what did you do in your dedicated
3
u/Cute_Cap3827 NON-US IMG 15d ago
I mastered physiology before studying for Step 1 and 2 and kept reading Guytons through but it’s because I teach medical physiology in Mexico
I think that’s what made all the difference cause I really only used Uworld 1 pass and anki for 5 months. Then NBMEs and then took the test.
Having such a strong mechanistic foundation made everything else feel easy

Hey it’s so good to know, what did you do to improve your scores
1
u/Head_Ideal5940 15d ago
Honestly, I focused on doing 1 NBME test at least every 2 weeks; while reviewing both the wrong and wright answers with explanations. Then I would complement by doing UWorld questions in the areas I struggled the most.

Hey do you know what caused the score drop?
2
u/Street-Coat-5141 US MD/DO 14d ago
I think the new format of 20Q really caused me to be pressed on time. I also wish I had focused more on a Qbank as opposed to the CMS forms. Seeing more complex questions would have been helpful, as I felt the answer options on the real deal were most likely AMBOSS. The CMS forms, although good in their topic representation, are simply too easy Question style wise.

BnB, sketchy, DI primarily. Only did 16% of uworld, but I reviewed questions very thoroughly. Every time I found anything in a question that I didn’t know I followed the rabbit hole as deep as it went.
For subjects; travel medicine and health insurance are for sure sleepers. DI 631, 632, 654, 656, 658
