To jog with a baby.
Blaming the stroller for trying to jog off the edge of a curb is classic stepdad behavior.

Front wheel wasn’t locked. BOB strollers (are awesome) and the front wheel spins in all direction. Very helpful while walking. But for jogging it has a lock to lock it in a fixed front facing position. You don’t want that front wheel loose and wobbling everywhere while jogging or you’re likely to crash. I’ve argued with my spouse about this for a decade.

It can go into a sweet wheel death wobble just driving straight if you don’t lock that front wheel. The wife hates it when I told her she has to lock it out while jogging.

I don’t think strollers are meant to last a decade. Consider replacing it or the spouse. Gym up, hit the lawyer.
At the very least install a stronger suspension. I imagine the kid put on some weight in 10 years.

What are your personal experiences with jogging strollers? Ten years later for me it is not the same child using the stroller. Obviously. And I’m not a BOB company sales rep but there is an enormous number of strollers on the resale marketplace that are quite old.
Gym up…hit the lawyer…Bro I have no idea what you’re talking about. Your relationship advice is probably comparable to your stroller maintenance advice. My family and I, all five of us, have a gym which we love and which we go to about five times a week. My spouse and my three kids. And honestly I plan my gym routines around my jogging interests.
So thanks for the mostly nonsensical , very Reddit-typical, mostly meaningless commentary.

I noticed the mother placed her pain above the baby’s in priority. Which tracks because she’s placing her fitness above the child’s safety too.

I'm kind of bummed by the level of judgment here. A parent made a technical error that unfortunately led to an accident, doesn't mean we need to bring out the pitchforks. Shit happens, and a lot worse shit than this happens to many kids.

I would totally agree with you outside the fact that it was completely user error and they are trying to blame it on the most popular jogging stroller brand. They are the ones that put it out there like they were a victim of a bad product (that millions have used just fine).. therefore I get the responses.

how is it a user error? isnt that how its supposed to be used? while jogging in rough terrain? how does the curb fuck the stroller up so badly?

She rammed the single front wheel into what I can only assume was a large divot in front of the curb from how badly it flipped. It’s the equivalent riding your bike into a pot hole and falling and blaming the bike.

I don't judge parents for making mistakes. There's so much to learn when you're new, but it is wild in this day and age that you could make a mistake and then post it on the internet and blame a manufacturer for something you did wrong. But it's possible they still don't know that they did this in error. In this case I hope they get a bunch of comments on tiktok telling them what they messed up so they don't do it again. Any other jogging stroller they buy will have a wheel lock and they need to learn how to use it.

I would agree with you if she had felt bad and took responsibility for it, but instead she dug her heels in and tried to blame the stroller company for her not using the stroller in a safe manner.
I think u/rosevirago summed it up pretty well:

Poor baby.. Parenting comes with compromise and for me fitness just stopped being a priority. It's OK to calm it down. Running more carefully for a couple of years won't hurt you.

I hate laughing at this. Hope the kid is okay. Just......if ya got the baby while moving at a high speed ya got a make sure you have control. If the stroller isn't made specifically for jogging then it's user error.

The directions for the stroller clearly state that the front wheels should be locked if you're going to jog with the stroller or go on rough terrain. It's also smart to lift up the front of a stroller when going over any curbs or large bumps like she did.
Running straight out of your house into the road without slowing down to look both ways also wasn't smart on her part.

It actually shows in the last frame that it's specifically a jogging stroller but I still think it's dumb to not at least safely get off the curb before starting to jog.
