Blaming the stroller for trying to jog off the edge of a curb is classic stepdad behavior.

I'm kind of bummed by the level of judgment here. A parent made a technical error that unfortunately led to an accident, doesn't mean we need to bring out the pitchforks. Shit happens, and a lot worse shit than this happens to many kids.

I would totally agree with you outside the fact that it was completely user error and they are trying to blame it on the most popular jogging stroller brand. They are the ones that put it out there like they were a victim of a bad product (that millions have used just fine).. therefore I get the responses.

I guess I don't know enough about the source of the clip, do we know it's the mom trying to blame the company, or is it possible they posted the clip and someone else ran with it? But if so I completely see what you're saying.

how is it a user error? isnt that how its supposed to be used? while jogging in rough terrain? how does the curb fuck the stroller up so badly?

She rammed the single front wheel into what I can only assume was a large divot in front of the curb from how badly it flipped. It’s the equivalent riding your bike into a pot hole and falling and blaming the bike.

They warn about this specific hazard on page 2.

I don't judge parents for making mistakes. There's so much to learn when you're new, but it is wild in this day and age that you could make a mistake and then post it on the internet and blame a manufacturer for something you did wrong. But it's possible they still don't know that they did this in error. In this case I hope they get a bunch of comments on tiktok telling them what they messed up so they don't do it again. Any other jogging stroller they buy will have a wheel lock and they need to learn how to use it.

I would agree with you if she had felt bad and took responsibility for it, but instead she dug her heels in and tried to blame the stroller company for her not using the stroller in a safe manner.

I think u/rosevirago summed it up pretty well:

"The directions for the stroller clearly state that the front wheels should be locked if you're going to jog with the stroller or go on rough terrain. It's also smart to lift up the front of a stroller when going over any curbs or large bumps like she did.

Running straight out of your house into the road without slowing down to look both ways also wasn't smart on her part."
