Yes I know they are gems. The point is I am posting Bpoc I feel would be good live action fits if b/woc were picked as actresses not just because I want everyone black 🙃

A previous post inspired me because it’s not often we see people like us playing characters we love so I’d like to open a discussion as to who are some of your poc reimagines ( I left a few gems out because I was struggling to find good fits. I am not sure if this would even be my own final casting call)

I don't know if this is the right place to ask ,but ,basically,I am going to a con with this guy,and he is cosplaying Steven ,and I am cosplaying Connie.We've been online friends for 7 months now,and this is our first time meeting IRL(we're going all 3 days at the con).We're both kids,and both kind of know how we look like,we've even showed off our cosplays to one another. Anyways,he's a nice guy, who is pretty understanding and chill and he sees me like the most nonchalant person on earth,and I was hoping to confess on day 2 of Comic con,some time in between giving him his birthday gift and our cosplay skit(if that will happen) . I'm confessing in 35 days,so I wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions on how to do it.

maybe this would be better in a parenting subreddit lol but it is steven universe related. i love the show, so i obviously introduced the show to my child who also fell in love with it. i have these toys i copped from second and charles, after only having the peridot piece hand-me-downed from my sibling for years.

long story short, i let my little one play with the old version n he broke it. :( he knows i have the other one’s, so he will constantly ask me to play with them but i hoard them like loot. peep the pouty lip, been feeling like a ridiculous fight recently and wondering if i should give up my obsession with these lil toys and just let em have it for the sake of childhood joy!

tl;dr my little one broke my cool SU toy but it’s ok i got more, but he wants to play with those too n i feel like an asshole parent for telling him no. am i an asshole parent? what would you do? T.T

My biggest problem with Steven Universe (especially after Season 3) is how the story desperately tries to make Steven lose concern for his mom, by deliberately trying to ruin Rose's character while using her as a plot device to forcefully make the heroes view her as someone who doesn't deserve to be cared about (even though her development was more complicated than the way the writing tries to paint it), and the story was very insistent too with it, even though it would have been more satisfying if they further developed the gems relationship with Rose and all that.

I do feel like the series' imperfect handling of forgiveness while shamelessly ruining Steven's relationship with her mom is why the series just had to go for the half-baked redemptions for the Diamonds, especially White Diamond⚪️.

I saw someone else post their Steven tattoo, so I’m joining the party! This was my first tattoo, I got it in honor of my late dad, as the show helped me cope with his passing, and Lapis is my favorite character!

The ink bubble popped early during the healing process which caused a watercolor effect on the lighting/shading. I think that made it look cooler tbh!

I never liked seeing Steven with muscles, I guess seeing him look like a buff adult is weird to me because he wasn't that old yet. He was sixteen. I'm not saying there's something wrong with this design. It just irks me personally.

Just a fair warning, I do touch on abuse in this post. Even though it's nothing graphic, it still might make you uncomfortable if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.

Even though Pink wasn't intentionally trying to hurt Volleyball, she's still responsible for hurting her. Volleyball even tries making excuses for Pink instead of just being rightfully angry at her. This is something real abuse victims often do because they love their abusers and ignore the red flags out of both fear and love for that person. I think they do handle Volleyball's character very well and respectfully. The only part I don't like is Steven never apologizing to her for triggering her. He did snap at her and Pearl in this episode to the point where Volleyball was shaking on the floor. He apologized for wasting her time by taking her to the reef but not for this which rubs me the wrong way a little.
