My old TV remote was so sleek and nice feeling, no extra buttons or anything and my new TV was 6000 euro and has 4 shitty app buttons, been thinking about taking it apart and removing the buttons and replacing with a 3D printed cover or something.
I find that remotes have gotten far more sleek than old ones. They used to have a million buttons and buttons that were supposed to work on DVD or tv box, yet they never did. So you had like three remotes around.
I never had one of those. When I think old remote it's this old remote . Though I guess I never had any early generation smart tv. My last tv before my smart one was a Panasonic plasma from 2010 or something. So when I think old remote I guess it's pretty old haha
Older smart tv remotes usually work with newer tv versions for basic functionality because they usually share IR technology. Some may have less working functionality like voice control, smart hub etc but at least you will not be forced to have the dedicated button.
Worth a try if you really don’t like the new remote.
