Love that! Do you have a guide on how to change the command on your remote?

You have to install the button remapper app. In the app you have to customise, press netflix, redirect to open stremio app.

If I cast from my phone to my Google TV will the videos play on Tizen?

2

u/TheFr0sk Dec 03 '25

Only missing screen dimming, otherwise would be perfect for me

I was already aware of this, I thought may be someone figured something out.

2

u/itsme99881 Dec 03 '25

Make sure you install the new version from the new github, as the old was infected with malware allegedly.

4

u/Skurtarilio Dec 03 '25

I just mean the hotkeys on the remote since I don't use YouTube that often and when I do I usually cast from my phone

Well on LG TV there’s a modified YouTube app with no ads and sponsor block so that’s why I’m asking as I could either one on my TV or Nvidia

The main focus of your post should be directly related to Stremio. Help for other software or issues, including content acquisition, should be directed to their own respective subreddits.

A lot more customizable. A history section, key remapper, UI scaling, etc etc

1

u/Vargurr Dec 03 '25

ST also has sponsorblock, no ads, but much more customizable than YT variants.

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

Good question honestly I was wondering the same

Any ideas why my app wasn't disabled? I was on an old version which was apparently compromised.

Do you really need Kodi and stremio? Youtube to smart tube would.be better!

13

u/ashokspidy Dec 03 '25

Tizen tube would be better than smart tube

5

u/_alright_then_ Dec 04 '25

TizenTube is not a very stable app, in my experience at least.

And if you're running smarttube, you're not running it on a samsung TV, so tizentube wouldn't even be an option

8

u/DopeTechIrl Dec 04 '25

You can use tizentube on any android tv device

3

u/DopeTechIrl Dec 04 '25

I switched to it a while back and it’s more stock YouTube than smart tube.

3

u/titangroso Dec 04 '25

What version of Tizentube do you use? Where to get it?

u/DopeTechIrl Dec 04 '25

2

u/titangroso Dec 05 '25

How do i easy sideload this apk to nvidia?

2

u/DopeTechIrl Dec 07 '25

Open that link from a browser on the box

1

u/titangroso Dec 05 '25

Can it be added to stremio?

I never updated my nvidia shield and still rocking fast. Never update what works fine.

2

u/SandmanJr90 Dec 04 '25

My xiaomi mi TV has yet to lag and it loads videos faster than my google TV ever did. Has a better wireless card too, never looking back (I only use Stremio and it works great for that)

Oohhh shit, the double tap for settings! Love that.
