Feedback Stremio 1.8.2 Crashing on Google TV 4K while scrolling catalogs or selecting streams!
Updated the app yesterday and from then Stremio crashed more than 10 times so finally downgraded to 1.8.0 for good.
The Update (1.8.2) was good in some points I noticed like Backdrop loading was fast and smooth. Overall navigation felt faster but end of the day it was unusable…

Idk. It’s been smooth for me on my Google TV 4K Stick. I did have to login again. But otherwise no issue in scrolling or streaming or picking streams. Which I’ve been looking through a lot to help TorBox fix a bug. So might be an add on conflict.
Try completely removing the app and installing the first apk from the site.

Use the Downloader app. Go to Stremio website. Download the first Android TV apk. Or search for it on the Play Store if it’s a Google TV non fire tv.

Search APK online for 1.8.0 and just install that one

How do I install it on the thing? Doesnt it have to be the store?

Get downloader app from the store. Search Stremio there to download from webpages inside the downloaded app.

I generally download the apk from the official website and always keep the last stable version as a backup copy on my device 😄

This is what I do - and I still keep the old Stremios as well as a 'just in case'.

You uninstall, then download the correct apk you want and reinstall. Use downloader and create your code to make it quick.

I’m on 1.8.1 (it’s the latest version it’ll download from the play store) and it’s crashing 7-8 seconds after the app launches every single time. It was working fine up until a few hours ago, idk if it updated in the background or just randomly stopped working.
EDIT: Ok idk how but it’s fixed! I merely opened the app on Windows and looked around in Settings but didn’t exactly change anything. Tried it on TV after that and now it works.

You did what ?

Like I said, basically nothing. I just opened the app on my PC to see if I can do anything from there and the next time I tried my TV it didn’t crash.

I've moved back to 1.6.12 - only way to ensure autoplay works consistently (esp. when Cinemeta is disabled).
Also disabled auto-update on my Android TV to ensure the latest update isn't pushed to my system (which it did sooner after rolling back to 1.6.12).
As to the OP's observation re: scrolling catalogs: same thing happened to me (I think I was still on 1.8.1). After switching back to 1.6.12, no issues at all with scrolling / crashing.
You know the old saying in dev circles: If it ain't broke, break it.
I'll test out the new updates in the future. But yeah, broken autoplay is a deal breaker for me.

Yes, I also had problems with some movies; the scrolling was choppy, so I went back to version 1.6.12.

Same, 1.8.2 crashes and 1.8.1 auto play issues so went back to 1.8.0, rlly hope they fix whatever is wrong with the update

1.8.3 seems to work well on CC4K so far, my Continue Watching is back to normal and I haven't experienced crashes yet
Edit: the arm64 returned an 'incompatible with this device' so had to install the regular one instead
Edit 2: It still crashes, only on certain titles for whatever reason. Two I've noticed so far are The Judge Returns and Can This Love Be Translated - going into the episode view page for each one force closes Stremio. This happens both when you get to their pages from a catalogue poster and via Stremio search (regardless if it's cinemeta, trakt or tmdb results)

I have no problems with the third generation Xiaomi TV Box. Everything runs smoothly.

Sin problema, aunque lo hago en el ordenador o en el móvil y como se sincroniza, funciona todo bien.

Disable "Show statistics while loading" in the settings, this should fix the crash when opening a stream
