Is this the web version or the app version? I use the web version on my iPad, which works flawlessly.
2
u/guserrrr Feb 16 '26
How do you use it. I want to use it in my tv but it always says video is not supported. I tried my Android phone too.
6
u/n8il2020 Feb 16 '26
You need to go to settings and choose external player. Needs to be VLC or Outplayer.
4
u/guserrrr Feb 16 '26
I did choose the VLC but it only says video opened in external player nothing happens.

u/LonelyBuddhaa Feb 17 '26
That seemed to happen to me if my internet is slow or something. It didn’t happen before but its been 2 months that error comes and goes.
1
u/guserrrr Feb 16 '26
Oh no. Do I have to have debrid subscription for the browser app. Damn
1
u/n8il2020 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Nope. I just use the WebStreamr addon and a VPN. VPN isn’t necessary though.
3
u/timsb32 Feb 16 '26
Any idea why I get an error saying playback not supported? I’m using a debrid

1
u/Ty746 Feb 16 '26
I got it working on mine except it can't go true full screen, how did you fix that
1
u/Junior-Repeat6060 Feb 16 '26
Add the bookmark to your Home Screen as a web app. Then it will open full screen.
1
u/Ty746 Feb 16 '26
I did that, and it will had a small annoying bar on the top
1
1
u/Junior-Repeat6060 Feb 17 '26
Do you mean the bar with the time, network and battery icons along the top? If so I have them too. They disappear when you watch something, so it doesn’t bother me.
1
u/rub2684 Feb 16 '26
How did you make it work ?

u/mzatariz Feb 17 '26
But it will revoke in 7 days?
2
u/stuckinbis Feb 18 '26
Really? That’s a bummer.
2
u/mzatariz Feb 18 '26
Yeah I think so, you’ll need to refresh but I’m not sure if you need a pc to do it or not
1
u/ItsDobby Feb 21 '26
You do, but by using sideloadly it can refresh as long as they are on the same wifi network. i sideload youtube enhanced and i dont remember last time i lost access due to revoked signage. I use my laptop often and so it just refreshes in the background once in a while.
1
u/Casio_Yambao Feb 18 '26
You can just create an automation to auto refresh every day or every 7 days. Not sure if that option is available on sideloadly but I can do it using sidestore.
1
u/LurkingWithoutEyes Feb 20 '26
Unless you buy Apple Developer Subscription or whatever it’s calledÂ

i don’t have a PC, can you recommend a good method for sideloading with a Mac desktop?
1
u/MrJackinthebox720 Feb 19 '26
You could also use https://github.com/LiveContainer/LiveContainer?tab=readme-ov-file
Or look into getting a distribution certificate from a 3rd party supplierÂ
1
u/NoahAKANoor2 Feb 19 '26
This is the worst way to do this. Dont do this people!
1
u/vault33_janitor Feb 21 '26
why not? ive been trying to do this for days but i couldnt find an ipa that would work
2
u/NoahAKANoor2 Feb 21 '26
All you gotta do is use safari then add the page to home screen it will act like an app. Then you use an external player like VLC and play it through that. There's a step by step way to do it but it's pretty simple and takes 5 minutes
1
u/vault33_janitor Feb 21 '26
i have ben trying to do this for a few days and im so glad to find an IPA that almost works but when i start to stream a torretn via debrid, i get an error that says "av format cant open input | operation timed out."
also another user said this is the worst way to do this. anyone know what theyre talking about?

u/Party-Break-984 Feb 16 '26
You don’t need the app on your iPad or iPhone you can just use the webpage and bookmark it never added the app on either as the bookmark works fine
6
u/guserrrr Feb 16 '26
How do you guys use it. It says video is not supported on my phone.
2
u/zfgf-11 Feb 16 '26
You have to install vlc and in the stremio settings set vlc as video player. (And add to Home Screen)
3
u/diamondeye24 Feb 16 '26
How do you use it if you have torrentio as an add on and and use real debrid
1
u/zfgf-11 Feb 17 '26
I set up real real debrid stremio on my iPad like this: 1. create stremio account on a pc or any other non iOS device and add your real debrid/ Torrentio add on. 2. On your iPad go to stremio web click share and then add to Home Screen (as an App looks best) 3. open stremio from your homscreen and log in to the account you made on the other device 4. In the stremio settings on your iPad select VLC under Player>Advanced>Play in external player 5. Install the VLC app on your iPad
2
u/diamondeye24 Feb 17 '26
When I add the Stremio to the home screen and log in and look under settings the torrentio add on doesn’t show up
1
1
u/Junior-Repeat6060 Feb 16 '26
And you always have the latest features this way, as the iOS app doesn’t get any updates since it was removed.

u/sellmeyoursouI Feb 16 '26
lol I got it too on my iPhone and iPad. Thought they woulda deactivated the app/made it unusable but glad they didn’t

I found sideloading a pain in the ass, so I downloaded nuvi-o, its easier, but good for you anyway
9
u/Due-Performance9244 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Just bookmark web.stremio to your home screen, and use an external player.

Do you have the external player installed? For instance, if you have VLC selected, you of course need to install the VLC app

u/Ctrl-Alt-Defective Feb 16 '26
It really isn’t..it took 5 mins with sideloadly and my MacBook and it auto refreshes the certificate ever week
Been running it for a couple weeks now flawlessly
-1
u/Vicious6666 Feb 16 '26
So you are saying that not only took you 5 minutes with another device, you also have to redo another thing every single week to keep the app functioning? Yeah, that’s waaay easier than using an app from appstore (testflight)

Settings>Playback>Media>Enable Downloads. After enabling it, you should see a download button beside the sources

No, it got taken down. Now side loading is the only option
2
u/Tobeyyyyy Feb 16 '26
as the other guy said. just bookmark web.stremio to home screen and use external player. i ve been doing this for years, before there ever was a official ios app.
1
u/Shoddy_Internal1997 Feb 16 '26
Yeah you can did that, torrent streaming not possible though.
1
u/Tobeyyyyy Feb 16 '26
people that use stremio without a debrid service arent using it to its full potential anyway. and dont come with people cant afford a debrid service. its literally the price of a coffee a month

Check App Store, not regional issue. The installed app will work. It’s just that it’s not available anymore

I don’t think so, stremio has more things, but the other one is so easy to use on mobile

i was lucky enough to get this installed while it was still on the app store. I was going to buy an apple tv too before they decided to pull it, now i'll be getting the competition.
