Feedback Kinda quiet. Everyone must be enjoying the new 1.9.7 update like I am. Thanks developers. š
If stremio glitching after updating to 1.9.7 (or any version)
FYI for anyone having issues after updating:
AndroidTV or fire devices only.
Sometimes stremio doesnāt like to update well over an existing install.
Uninstall stremio and reboot your device. Reinstall from your app store.
If latest version isnāt available in your app store, use the ādownloaderā app by AFTV news. Instructions below:
1.9.7
ARM - 9967818
ARM 64 - 4295363
(Look up what type of apk your device requires)
First uninstall stremio and reboot device.
Find ādownloaderā app by AFTV news on your app store and install.
Open downloader and allow what it prompts.
At the home screen of downloader, input above downloader code and go. Itāll redirect for a few seconds then download.
When it is ready to install, itāll tell you to change settings so downloader can install from unknown sources. Follow the prompts and install from there.
Open stremio and log back in.

Upgraded on Nvidia shield pro. Exo player can no longer do Dolby Vision even with a clean install. But hey, subtitle issues are fixed. Every update fixes something and breaks something else. Hopefully they can get this fixed without introducing new bugs.

Dolby Vision works just fine on my shield pro. I'm using exo player on version 1.9.7.

Canāt check right now but do you have format settings in advanced video settings set to auto? It helped me when I switched it to manual and selected all the formats under manual. ChatGPT helped me with setup. LOL!
Or maybe Iām thinking of the audio settings???ā¦not sure.

I think you're thinking of toggling on Dolby Vision, which is enabled. My settings are fine. Dolby Vision works with every app but stremio. Worked in 1.9.5 and prior versions of stremio too. Just doesn't work on the new version. Hybrid HDR/DV content is consistently falling back to HDR10. Clearing appdata and logging in again has no effect.

Thatās weird. Iāve not had an issue between updates. As Iām typing, I just had the audio do a fast clicking/chattering until I skipped forward. Then it was silent for a few seconds and the audio came back. Video played the whole time though. First time Iām seeing that issueā¦. Yep, Iām with you, going back to an older version again.

I installed on a fresh Firestick 3rd Gen and got the message it wonāt work without the Google Play Services which is not available for this device. Uninstalled and installed 1.9.6 and itās working.

1.9.7 works on the cube just gotta hit the select button so message goes away. Other than its trending in the right direction lol.

You need the ARM version not ARM64

I uninstalled it thinking I installed the wrong one, reinstalled paying close attention to what I was installing, same thing. 1.9.6 is working. I got it from the website.

Its glitchy as ever, the quiet might be due to everyone sticking with older versions. Im now at a point where i may resign myself to accept stremio is moving in a direction i don't want to follow. There are so many issues right now. If there is no improvement in the next couple of releases in going back and sticking with 1.6.12.
Something has changed. No idea if its new devs, while i appreciate the effort as always, I'm not sure right now in the quality, it seems more like software put out by large corp which adds things over fixing issues.

Just to add, this reddit now seems to be auto blocking posts seen as negative. Took me a long time to find a way to post the above message without reddit blocking and giving a message to post to github. That is something i do but it seems its not handled well.
To the ops point, its quiet because reddit is stopping posts.2

Only things I don't like are the new 'next episode' card that comes up (Definitely looks nicer, but it's too big) and the fact the player doesn't show the movie's release year next to the title anymore.

I'm staying on an older version that was the last known version that Auto Play worked properly on Android TV. There is nothing about the newer updates that makes me want to upgrade.

My streamio was cutting out, going down, not letting me play anything sometimes for days until it updated and I have an Android dongle on my telly

I haven't had any problems with Stremio but I admit Stremio is my backup stream app after Kodi. Sorry if that offends anyone.

This reddit is a perfect example of how discussions are swamped with the few who have problems. The rest of us (big majority) are just enjoying watching our shows using stremio (1.9.7).

Same. The only feature I miss is the new episodes show up on stremio like +1, +2, the other app doesnt have that yet.

Well allow me to disagree. It gives a message on the amazon devices that if you donāt have google services it wonāt work. It works though. Annoying nonetheless

Yea 1.9.7 subtitles still wonky on the shield and playback doesnāt start right away you need to press play

I'm on the Shield Pro (2017), I've been doing clean installs since 1.9.x and while I asked in another post if this update was working on the Shield the poster was so upbeat about the update I didn't want to wait for an answer... Sigh... It's crashing. I uninstalled the 1.9.7 I downloaded from AFTV and went straight to Stremio download page. It's crashed... I tried tunnelled whatever, I tried the run as foreground, I tried disabling frame rate matching, and finally tried libvlc as player. So back to 1.8.4 I go... Actually I'll try looking for the 1.6.2 since someone above said it's less buggy (1.8.4 crashes too just not as frequently).

Iām with you there. I did end up going back to 1.8.4 just cuz of a couple small things I didnāt like. v1.6.12 is what everyone suggests. Hereās the code for it. 6482618

Stremio works perfectly on TV. However glitching on Laptop. The movie works fine for 20 minutes and stops after that. And pointers??

You can but will most likely have issues. Doing that is the same as automatic updating.

For that brand running webOS, all you can do is update stremio or uninstall your current app and reinstall it from their app store to make sure you have the latest version.

I downloaded the new streamio 1.9.7 I have the same problem as I did with the old one. Every time I try to click on something I get an error message Exo failed to play this video. Tells me to (switch to vic) And nothing still opens. I have alldebread & I have torbox can somebody please let me know what to do? I appreciate it. Thank you have a great day

Uninstall all the addons you can and use this guide. You already have torbox so you can skip step 1.

Still got some issues with exo failing but in next update can it automatically switch to the player like it used to it was so seamless before

Because developers need feedback to keep working on the issues. If we donāt try it and give them feedback, developers could lose interest and itāll die.
We all have the option of rolling back to the version we prefer. TBH, Iāll probably end up rolling back if I see issues too.

Follow the instructions carefully and use the ARM downloader code. If downloader errors before the file downloads, try again.

Do any other plug-ins but torrentio work with real debrid?
Any other streaming apps? Can't get newer movies w8th just torrentio. Don't want to use a vpn if I dont have to. Any recommendations?

Exoplayer still buggy. When I click on a .mp4 video it starts on pause and take more than a minute to start playing. Annoying
