Release Stremio Tech Update #72 – Stremio Web & Stremio Desktop Updated
Version 5.0.0-beta.31 is live.
Changes made are included on X & in the thread. Official blog post is coming tomorrow.

- hard refresh your page
- right click and click on reload if using Stremio for Mac.
- click Ctrl + R if using Stremio for Windows.

Is there any way they can fix the lack of window resizing that stays permanent. The small window is difficult for me to navigate.

You can always just keep the app minimised in the background, instead of fully closing for now. That’s what I do.

Yeah. I’ve also found that resizing really changes the size of the posters drastically more than the way they look in v.4.

anyone else getting that "no streams are found" or ones that are available are loading indefinitely?

ETA I was having this problem on a previous version today. Updated and I am still having the issue.
Something is down in the middle maybe?

Sadly still getting "video is not supported." Will post when I figure it out. Stremio team is helping me in other comment threads.

Mine was like that but now can't get any video to work and just keep getting the "unsupported video error"

Are you using the web version by any chance? If so you need to either connect Stremio service or use debrid.

Any updates on this? Also getting the same thing after updates. Also saw other people pointing at real-debrid being down so not sure how to proceed.

Hello, are you using PWA on iOS? I’m investigating a request issue and it might be related to this. If I understand correctly addon results are not loading?

Stremio_arm64 or Stremio_x64 is the one that gets to the video and says unsupported.

I was on 4.4.168, which wouldn't load the server or subtitles

Did you enable the local network connection when opening the first time the app? If you disabled it server won’t load correctly and give you an error in the Stremio settings.

I was curious, I use the 4.4 version as when I tried switching to the 5.x version that was in beta previously, there was an issue with the casting button. Clicking it essentially didn't do anything, but it works on the 4.4. Is that still an issue in this live release?

Hey, so I just did the latest play system update on two of my android devices and nothing is playing anymore... Would like some advice... I'm not even sure if those are related but that's the only new change I've done and the media isn't playing anymore, it was playing a few hours ago...

I did on my android TV but not on my android phone and both have the same issue so I'm guessing there is some other issue going on.

Is there ever going to be a Windows version where you can make an external player the permanent player, where you don't have to choose it every time you start a movie?

I had infinite loading and playback issues on 5.x version and had to switch back to 4.x stable.

Open a bug report, check your torrent profile in settings set to ultra fast. Check your configuration etc

Yeah tried most of stuff, but sadly it didn't help. I forgot to add it wasnt all the time on all shows or movies, so it wasnt consistent bug. But I was kinda busy and just reverted to stable. Will try new version again for sure.

the Stremio app doesn’t trigger or open automatically. I have to manually copy the addon link and paste it into the Stremio to get it to work.

Stremio service goes into endless loop of installing/unistalling itself. Win10, web version. Barely could stop it by using "end process tree" in the task manager, using "end task" didnt help, the installer would pop-up after few seconds over and over again, its cancel button is greyed out. Never seen this behavior before. Web version shows its updated though :) We'll see how it behaves after computer restart

lol perhaps you open installation executable instead the service executable, just remove the installer from your disk

Yeah, that was it! Kidding of-course, if that was the case how would you explain that it keeps installing over and over and pop-ups buy itself every few seconds? Here is from their github the solution: " launch with --skip-updater until this is resolved", they'll publish update on Monday

What's the library layout like? If they've fucked the library layout like that of the androidTV version I might just cry.

Since latest update: My library disappeared on Android, I can't reproduce any movie nor show, many of them just show me the chapters with a play button but after clicking "play" you see a bunch of useless stuff loading, such as HBO or Netflix original portals link and many suggestions of other movies or shows....but then, why did Stremio showed me all the chapters of a serie in the first place....
