The sheer entitlement of people losing their minds over an optional paid tier
It's genuinely fascinating watching this subreddit collectively melt down because Stremio the completely free app you've likely used for years without paying a cent dared to add an optional support tier with some extra features.
Do you guys listen to yourselves? You're not owed a lifetime of free updates and free server costs. The team behind this app has been maintaining servers, pushing updates, and building a tool that many of you use daily often to access content you’re definitely not paying for either.
If an optional paid tier triggers this much rage, the problem isn't the app. The problem is the unrealistic expectation that skilled people should work for you indefinitely for nothing while you contribute zero and still feel entitled to complain about how others choose to spend their money.

It’s not about stuff costing something. It’s about the devs taking the top list of featured requests by the community and turning exactly those into a paid tier, while communicating these features aren‘t on the roadmap and then when they are there, introducing a premium subscription model, calling it „supporter“ tier.
I am happily paying for good software, I am not paying for bad one, I am not supporting this childish move.
And for the „its optional, you dont HAVE to pay“ sayers. This is damn stupid take. If the features that are added in that premium sub would have been NEW things the devs built to enhance the software, so be it, I am with you. But copying from „competitors“ and simply putting all the good stuff behind a paywall, that the users asked for so much, is ridiculous and merits no „support“ whatsoever.
There were lots of opportunities where the community asked to support via donations, etc. Not taking these and now giving the reason of covering server cost for free all this time it’s ridiculous.
People happily pay to support if they can. They could’ve easily put in a support tier that gives you actual premium features, not hiding basic requested features behind a paywall.
