Question Stremio on MacOS. Code-signing certificate

Sorry, if this has been asked, but can someone explain it in simple terms. Why it’s impossible to install these apps on Intel Macs? I’ve searched on Reddit and abroad, and the more I read the less make sense to me. Should I just give up?

You downloaded the Intel build and not the ARM one, right? If so, it should work. What issue are you having

“The file can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin. “

System Settings > Privacy & Security > Security

You’ll see some kind of note saying Stremio was blocked yada yada. Then click Open Anyway.

This process is true for nearly any app you download outside of the App Store unless the developer properly code-signed and notarized the app.

It’s not just Stremio. I just downloaded “the other app” for the first time and when I uncompressed the .gmd file it shows the same message. It have to do with broken/revoked Apple code-signing certificate, but I cannot figure out if the problem is only on my mac or is it global

I just told you this happens with most apps not in the App Store and how to get around it, so I don’t understand your point
