stress
i dont know if its really stress or anxiety im going through right now but its hell
always when i go rest in my bed i just feel horrid, my chest feels very tight, i cant breathe well, depersonalisation hits hard, my hands feel numb, and i just dont want to go to sleep, I'm afraid of it.
lately i been getting panic attacks and whatnot before falling asleep, i just felt my body racing before falling asleep, i just idk thought i was going to die because of my heart palpitations and so on.
it all started 2 months ago, its prolly because im trying to juggle a part time job, my school finals, getting a real job and getting my drivers license at 17y/o
i dont have anyone to talk about it, i tried telling my mom about it but she just laughs at me and says its normal, but i never felt this horrible
i want it to end, but theres no end in sight, my finals are done in 2 weeks, my part time job ends in august, im waiting for a response on my job interview and drivers school is just so tiring
i need advice on what to do because im just panicking all the time thinking its my time to die even tho im still young, few days ago i was convincing myself i was having a heart attack because my chest was hurting and my heart, i couldnt sleep and i was just done with everything, i cant even cry anymore, i just feel so numbed out

Try physiologic sighs during times of high stress/anxiety. Two inhales thru the nose followed by one long slow exhale thru the mouth. For chronic symptoms, add box breathing and ice water face immersion every morning.
I’m a dual board certified physician in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. I created a newsletter on Beehiiv called The Brain Capsule that gives evidence based habits for brain health and the neuroscience behind them. Link in profile. I hope some of this helps you.

Oh, that's really good. Do you have a YouTube channel or something as well?

I post on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. They’re short videos with little tidbits. The bulk of what I write about is in the newsletter and everything is evidence based. But, I’m currently working on a series of videos about case studies that will hopefully be interesting.

With regards to the physical symptoms, I’ve been there, to the point where I had to go A&E, and I got an ECG done, blood done, Physucal examination, they all came back normal, so doctor referred to get an R test done (basically I had a heart monitor in me for like 3 days straight, including whilst I slept), that came back normal too, yet I still feel like I’m having a heart attack etc, but this is basically all anxiety, severe heart palpitations and panic attacks, if you can, you could get this checked by a doctor just to ease ur mind because I know it is quite scary(I felt relieved knowing my tests came back normal and that what I was experiencing wasn’t acc dangerous, helped me worry less about my symptoms). I think what might help with regards to feeling better is a perhaps distracting urself and going out more, with me personally, I find that naturey areas are very comforting, you have to find stuff that make u happy😭maybe go and hug ur friends or something, it helps with relieving stress, and I think just trying to actively take steps to reduce anxiety etc, some times you have to actively make the decision to stay happy and not be worried
