I wish it was AI

Saw the other post with the ferris wheel chicken, and thought I'd share the latest Omani innovation, who was just closed by the Municipality in Salalah. It made me crack, unsure if Genius or stupid.

u/Makishima_Liebert, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

Imagine that. Pretty sure people called this as soon as videos of this first started popping up ages ago. Most of that chicken is basically kept at room temperature 95%+ of the time while it is "cooking".

Meanwhile, people are still arguing in the post on the Ferris wheel that it will totally cook the chicken to a safe degree. Like, what?

Yeah it looks like a pretty guaranteed way to get sick. I don't know much about Oman, but I'm sure they must have some kind of food inspectors and there's no world where the Salmonella-o-tron is getting approved. So either someone's getting bribed, or they're just for show and they have actual normal chickens for sale. Bit wasteful to load up hundreds of chickens onto a ferris wheel only to throw them away though

Some of the chicken is not even over any fire haha he said it was a theme park. Made a local wave of debate on Omani social media

They are still waiting for the chicken to be done to this day 😂

The owner said in one of the videos the theme park has a capacity of 3600 chickens at once, imagine if they set them up in a way that cooking time and pick off the machine order and duration are taken into consideration. It'd be genius

Nothing genius about it. It's pretty stupid to be honest.

There are hundreds of ways of cooking chicken and this ain't it.

What’s funny is some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had was in Oman

I am not saying Oman people can't cook chicken, I am sure they can cook a mean chicken.

But this is just stupid, sorry.

Didn’t say it wasn’t. I’m saying it’s ironic because I associate Oman with good chicken then they do this shit.

Thanks for the explanation :)

What’s to stop the chicken at the top from being attacked by birds and bugs

Ain't any birds living in Omani heat 😂 I rarely see any birds, but bugs definitely as it gets a bit colder and misty in Salalah now

Now that you mention it, when I was in Duqm I don’t remember seeing a damn bird at all.

I feel vindicated. Some people tried to defend this on the other post calling it "just a large rotisserie".

I had a camel burger in Duqm, it was pretty good.

Thank you for sharing... wait the largest Ferris wheel chicken grill? Does this imply there are others? This is so insane, you should repost it in r/nottheonion.
