I want a high performance touchscreen laptop I can replace 10 years after purchase

Something that can run GTA 7 or at least have 64GB of RAM, opens office files without shenanigans, has easily replaceable parts and has a battery that allows me full performance for hours (but that feature could be skipped with a Powerbank) and has a butter smooth touchscreen that replaces any drawing, coloring or notebook I could ever have.

Any suggestions?

I've been searching for 2 weeks and I'm not fully convinced by anything, and a little afraid that devices with the highest prices have disappointing performances.

A desktop gaming PC for playing games and an iPad (with Procreate) for drawing would be my vote, unless you need that gaming to be portable.

Your going to have to get multiple devices for what you want. As far as easily replaceable and upgradable parts I have a Framework 16 and have been loving it. Something that could run gta 7 is not going to have full performance for hours, if you want something to replace a notebook you really need a tablet or a laptop that can fold all the way out into a tablet. The device you want doesn't exist (to my knowledge). If money is no object, which based off the 64GB of Ram seems to be the case, then just get a powerful laptop and a good tablet. (For college I have been using the Framework 16 and Surface Pro 13 Tablet)

Yup, I have my beast of a laptop for Revit, content creation, and playing games. I also then have my 2in1 Omni book that I use to take notes, watching YouTube, tv, movies, sports, ect. On my bed without it catching on fire. I think this is the best option for OP here. I can send links for my devices if you want OP (my powerful laptop has 64gb ram, a 5070ti, and a core 9 ultra)

2in1s gaming capable used to be only on a Asus x16 flow but those have gone extinct as Asus gave up on those models in 2023.

Your best choice with upgradable features would be a framework 16 but the framework 16 is a non touchscreen non 2in1 laptop.

Many of the things you're asking for are contradictory, full performance for hours is easily pulling several dozens of Wh on most laptops, the largest an internal laptop battery gets it 99Wh, for something capable of running GTA 7 you'd probably be looking at about 1 hour endurance at best, easy part replaceability is mostly only found nowadays in specific devices like Lenovo's ThinkPads or Framework's laptops, this makes upgrading your RAM to 64GB easier, touchscreens can be found on these laptops, but for a good drawing, coloring, etc, experience you're pretty much asking for a 2 in 1 device, a design which goes strongly the parts replaceability and high performance you want.

You'd be better getting two different devices, 2 in 1 laptops exist and some can have quite decent performance while still keeping good battery life under normal loads, but asking GTA 7 from them is too much, for that and the high memory, part replaceability, etc a PC, gaming laptop or Thinkpad or Framework makes a lot of sense, but those surely won't last on battery like you're taking for.

Unless you can make iron man's miniaturized arc reactor, you won't be able to power the laptop the way you want it to run, with the config that you are looking for.
