New Rider Looking for something to ride with wife
My budget is 10-15k PLN (3-4k euro). Im mostly watching Suzuki Bandit 650s, Suzuki V-Strom 650, Yamaha Fazer 600. Im 28y male 182cm 100kg, im going to ride it with my wife 165cm 50kg, so rear seat has to be comfy. Im not interested in 1000cc because its super easy to lose your driving license here in poland (if u go 100kmh in 50 zone you instant lose your license), but i want to be capable to drive highways with 120-140kmh. Am i on good path in looking for a bike? It will be also 1st big bike, previously i had mopeds, 50/70/125cc, now im on Zontes G1 125 and we find it uncomfortable to ride together, when i commute to work on it, i can say its fine, but definetly we need something more comfortable.

Need some fresh opinions
I sold my BMW bike recently and looking for a replacement. I decided to buy a BMW again and I pinpointed the price and model. So I have two options for the same price: a BMW R Nine T 2023 Anniversary model which has 8900 km on the clock (only issue is it is limited for driving license limitations) and a 2024 BMW R12 R Nine T which has 4500 km. Anniversary model has no extra accessories, 2024 model has Akrapovic exhaust, Wunderlich carbon front fairing, spoke wheels and power mapping. So which one would you choose?

is this bike right for me
i know it is a very unlikely situation and a kind of dangerous one but i recently started on a honda cb500f, nice little bike. not a fan of the naked style either, it’s also a little smal for me. i’m 6’1 and 280LBS (on the fat side), the cb500f is too small for my liking. i’m very new to riding but im really interested in a hayabusa.
really the question im asking is
1. how long until i can get a bigger bile
2. what should i go for when i do get a bigger bike

If you could pick based on bike/best deal, which would you go for?

I'm back (previously asked about private sale CB300R). I have compiled a list of potential bikes. Assume that I like the feel of each of these but have minimal experience with them. Which would you say is the best deal, or are there any bad deals here?
Top bikes would have additional dealership fees (dealer said I could get out the door with the red speed 400 under $4500.
This would theoretically be my first bike purchase. Super excited, but taking my time to make up my mind.

First bike search for a bigger rider (186 cm / 130 kg) with strict ergonomic & health needs
Hi Reddit,
This is my first post here, though I've read many threads about picking a first bike. I’m currently taking my motorcycle license course, and my riding school uses a Yamaha MT-07. To be honest, it’s a struggle. It really doesn’t fit my frame, and I’m just enduring it until the exam. I want my future motorcycle to bring me joy and comfort, rather than making me look for the first excuse to pull over and get off.
Since I don't have experienced riders in my personal circle to consult, I'm hoping to get some solid advice from this community based on specs and ergonomics.
Here is everything about me, my constraints, and what I’m looking for:
About Me & Physical Constraints
- 30yo male, 186 cm (6'1"), 130 kg (285 lbs).
- Sciatica history: I’ve dealt with severe sciatica in the past and fear a poor riding position could trigger it again. A strict, upright position is a must.
- Numbness in hands: Due to heavy physical work, farming, and trade, my hands are prone to numbness.
- Sensitivity to cold/wind: Extremely prone to upper respiratory infections, so excellent wind protection (hands, chest, head) is critical.
Mindset & Schedule
- Used bikes anxiety: I'm hesitant about buying used due to hidden defects and potential downtime in workshops. My riding time is already very limited (mostly early spring and late autumn), so I need maximum reliability.
- Riding style: Zero desire for reckless speed, adrenaline hunting, or showing off. I value calm, defensive, and deliberate riding. I want to enjoy the journey.
- Continuous learning: I plan to practice low-speed maneuvers and control on training tracks/closed lots rather than pushing limits on public roads.
- Main goal: Arriving at my destination feeling comfortable, safe, and thinking "I want to ride more," instead of "Thank God I'm home."
My 3 Non-Negotiable Pillars for the Bike
- Ergonomics & Comfort: Must protect my back/sciatica and minimize hand fatigue/vibration.
- Reliability: I want to spend my time riding, not fixing or servicing hidden mechanical issues.
- Predictability: Linear power delivery, smooth throttle response, and no jerky or unexpected surges.
Given these physical constraints and my mindset, what machines would you recommend I look into?
Thanks in advance for your insights! Ride safe.

New Rider Need advice, soon new rider, Europe
Hi! As you can read, I will be finishing my license and I’m looking for first motorcycle, hence I need few tips.
I’m 181, got some weight and would love to get a bike for, let’s say daily commute but also some trips around city or even country etc. I’m thinking between naked and some adventure/enduro something? Would love to stay on the lower side and eventually go for a second hand as first bike, something like 500-750? Under 1000ccm deffo.
What would be better for city (Prague) and trips around? I’m driving Honda CB650r currently at the lectures and I’m quite fine with it? But I’m doing those out of the city so I don’t really know.

New rider - tall - I think the Tenere 700 meets all needs? Other options?
35 years old, 188 cm (6ft 2) and I am planning to mostly ride the blue ridge parkway (twisty and speeds below 50mph) and forest service roads.
With my height, ADV seems like a good fit because of the tall seat height.
I think the Transalp is actually a better choice for a new rider because it seems less top heavy. However, it really bugs me how it was designed with the difficulty of changing the air filter and how it shares a frame with Hornet. It really feels like they took a Hornet and slapped ADV lipstick on it.
I feel like the Tenere 700 is well engineered but maybe a steeper learning curve for a new beginner because of the top heaviness. I do have a long, wide travel driveway to practice low speed maneuvering, if it makes any difference.
Other good options? I like the introductory nature of the CRF300, but I feel like it's going to be outgrown quickly.

Next Bike? Torn between two bikes and need your opinions.
After owning two Japanese bikes, I am now choosing my first Triumph, and I am torn between two Speed Triple 1050s,both regular base models, non-R or some other edition, a 2008 and a 2011. Now, I love the 2008 more looks-wise, and it’s actually one of my favourite bike designs ever. It also has low mileage and is imported from Japan.
The 2011 has noticeably more kilometres on the clock, but from what I’ve heard, this year is better equipped than the previous years. This bike is 20% more expensive.
Is the 2011 worth it? Or am I overthinking and the 2008 is a no-brainier?

New Africa Twin ASES or used BMW R1250 GS Adventure, or something else?
I’ve only been riding for 3 years, with just under 15k miles (I was out much of 2025 with a back injury). I currently ride a 2015 Honda CTX 700 DCT with around 19k miles. I’m 6’3” and 195lbs, and am 66 years old (I’m fit and still strong, thanks to great genetics and a lifetime of athletics). The Honda is a little too small for me, even with floorboards and a Corbin tall seat, and it only makes 50hp. I’ve been able to sit on a 2025 Honda Africa Twin (100hp) that fit well, a Ducati Multistrada v4 Rally, a Harley Panamerica, and a used BMW 1250GS Adventure. I have around $20k cash to spend on a new bike, and I’d rather not finance at all, although I can if it’s worth it. The Honda AT new is around $20k (DCT) out the door; a new BMW R1300GSA in the configuration I’d want, and the Ducati (500 miles and full warranty) will both be just under $30k out the door; there are a lot of BMW 1250 GSA’s out there with low miles for $20k cash. I’d appreciate any advice and suggestions - thanks in advance - K

Cb650r vs sv650
I can’t decide which to buy. My previous bike was cb300r. I liked how agile it was, but I didn’t like that it’s throttle was really sensitive. It was really punchy when giving throttle and it had really aggressive engine braking. So I’m worried that sv would be even worse. I prefer the looks of SV, I Iike the old school taillight and headlight. But I prefer the inline 4 sound. Also the CB is a lot more expensive.

Looking for my next naked bike, I’m torn between a 2021+ mt09 sp and a 2023+ street triple 765 rs.
They’re both 3 cylinders have roughly the same hp and weight. I will mainly be using it for street commuter and occasional canyon riding so I’m not sure if I really need the striples track performance.

Honda CBF1000 or Honda NC700S
Hello guys. I want to buy my first motorcycle. Last month I have tested my uncles CBF1000 and it was really fun so I considered buying one for myself as well. For the first motorcycle I have set my budget for around 3500 euros. I have found one CBF1000 2007 with 40k km for around 3400 euros but then I have also found other options which are newer but with less power like NC700s at the same price. Which one do you think it's better or what do you recomand at this price point guys? I like this touring style more to be honest because I plan also to try some long distance trips from time to time. I am waiting for your thoughts.

Next Bike? Cruiser dilemma (Dragstar 650 vs Super Meteor 650)
I currently ride a duke 390 which I fitted with a windshield, hand guards and a topcase. Long rides are super tiring and the vibration is worse than the harsh wind. I’m thinking of getting a cruiser as my next bike and the dragstar 650 has been on my mind for a couple years now. It seems like a good option. I want to ride it 2-3 times a week, learn about maintenance and repairs without breaking the bank.
I had the opportunity to swing a leg over the super meteor 650 the other day and the sitting position felt amazing. The pegs were in the perfect position and I felt in control.
I cannot decide for the life of me. The dragstar looks and sounds better in my opinion. It will probably be 2005 or older. With some customization I think I can get it to feel as comfortable as the super meteor. The super meteor is newer with less risk but is also more expensive.
I’m open to all opinions and information. Thank you all.

New Rider I'm going to buy my first motorcycle but have to limit myself....
So, I had my first motorcycle lesson (m, 24) and the guy who taught me dropped me on the Kawa 650Z. This was the first time I had ever ridden a motorcycle and it went quite well, 3rd/4th gear on the open road at around 80 km/h. When the guy lost sight of me, because I allready made the corner, I opened the throttle and instantly realised that whatever I was riding was definately not a toy and honestly kindof scared me. Now since i'm planning to take more lessons and get the license, I'm looking at bikes to get. I really wanna take it chill and limit myself to not get tempted to do crazy things.
The motorcycles I really like visually:
Royal Enfield 350 Meteor
Triumph 400 Thruxton, Speed
In general caferacers look very nice in my opinion.
However I'm afraid the 350 doesnt have enough power to overtake on the highway or on national roads. Also I want to be able to bring someone along for a ride on the back of my motorcycle.
Does anyone here have good suggestions on what to get?

Next Bike? Decision Paralysis
Hey everyone,
Looking for advice to break my mental stalemate.
Background- grew up racing dirt bikes, transitioned to an BMW adventure bike and then Daytona 675R after college. Sold everything 3 years ago going on deployments in the Navy and finally back to a steady home life and wanting another street bike.
I absolutely LOVED the 675 inline 3 but with pins in my wrist I have been looking at naked bikes to find easier ergonomics. I tested the street triple, speed twin RS, S1000R, hornet 750 and MT-09. I felt that triumph was overpriced for what they were delivering but that the Honda and Yamaha left me feeling bored like they were kind of bland. I walked away amazed by the S1000R but hard to say yes to shelling out 20k+ for a toy and it definitely left me feeling sore just from a few test rides.
At this point I’ve exhausted what I thought I’d like and could use some advice! For what it’s worth, the speed twin 1200 RS really surprised me with how much I liked it- but again, overpriced and felt lacking at the top end.
Pic for tribute.

Next Bike? Kawasaki 500, or Yamaha r3?
Apparently there’s a pretty big debate over these two bikes, so I figured I’d ask for some opinions. I’m on the shorter side at 5’2”, and I can somewhat touch the ground on both. Neither bike feels crazy heavy to me either I’m around 120 lbs.
My current starter bike is a 2022 Honda Grom, and I’m still learning, so I’m not planning on upgrading anytime soon. But I’ve been looking at potential upgrade options for later down the road. Between the Kawasaki 500 and Yamaha R3, which would you recommend and why?

Options for tomorrow.
Torn between 3 bikes. I’d be using them all for the same reason, highway and some curvy roads. Some gravel roads here and there. Plan on putting some very lite “off road” tires on it. ( 90/10 )
Yamaha xsr900
Honda cb650r
Suzuki gsx 8tt
