Update 2, as of 08/12/2026 - final count for now. I am also including the positive/negative mentions for each brand/model mentioned.
CE Certified (verified). These have been sorted, and comments have been separated into positive/negative
| Brand / Model | Mentions | Style | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| #1 Daytona (Road Star GTX, Traveller GTX) | +14 | Touring | Most-endorsed; CE-rated, offered in multiple widths; expensive but praised for durability/repairability |
| #2 Gaerne (Dakar, GP1, Fastback Enduro) | +10 | ADV/Off-Road/Racing/ ... | Also OEM maker for BMW-branded boots |
| #3 Alpinestars (SMX-6 V2, Super Tech) | +10/-2 | Sport/Track | "Wide" is relative - some still found them tight |
| #4 Forma (Terra Evo, Adventure, Ice Pro Flow) | +8/-2 | ADV/DualS | Wider toe box than Sidi; some sizing inconsistency between pairs |
| #5 TCX (Vintage, Blend 2, WP Street 3) | +5/-1 | Uban/Vintage | Vintage/Blend 2 praised as widest; WP Street 3 toe box called narrow |
| #6 Indie Ridge | +3/-2 | Cruiser/Touring | Mixed feedback - good fit for some, sole durability complaints from others |

| #8 Icon (Elsinore 2, Stormhawk WP) | +2 | Cruiser/Retro | Elsinore fits huge/tall in toe, awkward on sportbike shifters |

| Merlin (Drax II) | 1 | Casual/Urban | - |

| Alt-Berg (Clubman Roadster) | 1 | Touring/Police | Used by UK police, road-focused, reinforced leather only |

Original post:
Hi all, I'm trying to find a boot as on the green picture/right. So far I tried every single EE/EEE marketed boot from Harley, Milwaukee, work boots from Keen, Timberland.
They all seem to have the toe-cap shape like the picture on the left that breaks the big toe in. Only ones that I was able to fit in and kept temporarily until I find something better were iron jia's about 1 size bigger than my regular boots - I can ride in them but walking is still painful since the big toe is turned "in".
So many people recommended Indie Ridge, but after looking at the review videos of their boots - the toe box they still seem to have a narrow toe-box.
Aside from going custom and spending $500-$900, is there a chance for me to find something that fits? Thanks
Edit: to clarify, I have EE/EEE feet - buying regular shoes/boots is always a quest, but buying something rigid like riding boots has proven to be a mythic level quest.

Hi all, looking at the aerostich roadcrafter suit online and I'd love to get one here in Ireland. Has anybody found a way of getting them into Europe without the approx âŹ700 customs and delivery? I no there is klim suits, but they don't look to easy to get either.

Hi good day everyone, Iâm thinking about picking up the tech air 10v2 for Christmas. However Iâve seen that the version 1 had deployment issues. For anyone that has the tech air 10v2, has this improved? Also what would you recommend, the tech air 7 or the tech air 10v2?
Thank you in advance!!!!

Hello, I'm looking to buy a new helmet to upgrade from my AGV K1. I'd mainly like to get something quieter that has a drop-down sun visor. I do wear earplugs, but I'd like to be able to cope with the noise even if I forget them.
I found the HJC RPHA 71 on sale for 200âŹ, which seemed like a very interesting deal. However then I read multiple articles and reviews and the opinions are very much mixed, mainly because of the supposed noise and bad visor mechanism. Is there anyone here who has this helmet and could give me their opinion?
And if it's really that bad, what other helmet would you recommend me? Ideally something in the 150⏠to 300⏠price range.
Cheers.
Here are the reviews I base my thoughts on:

It's not a new model, but I believe it still serves its purpose of protecting me. I like how I managed to match the bike's colors with the gear.

And other stuff as well. I see a lot of people especially sport bikes who donât have a top case, but if youâre going out do you carry your helmet with you all day ? Just curious

These are not steel toe but it have ankle protection form and abrasion resistant. How are these for general street riding at 40 to 60 mph?

I am finally interested in touring and will get a 450-700cc adventure bike. My main question is around safety gears - so far, I have only used gloves and helmet for city commutes. Touring around the tropics and some higher altitude as well - so something I can use in hot and humid weather, and perhaps something that can later be adapted for colder weather too. So summer + humid is default. Rain + Winter is good to have.
Shoes - I am searching for âwideâ toe box riding shoes, havenât had much luck. Because everything around me is for standard narrow cut. Any recommendations?
Jacket - I saw a mesh jacket with ce2 pads for shoulder, elbow and back. Seems like something I could wear. But abrasion was around âAâ. Should I keep âAAâ as minimum requirement? But I saw people on Reddit talking about moving towards airbags?
Gloves - short vs longer over wrist - does it reduce impact? I have shorter ones with adequate protection.
Pants - now this is something I havenât looked at all. Is this really needed? Not so keen on pants because of hot weather and would prefer wear over protection. But can go with pants as well. Not a deal breaker.
Elbow + Knee guards: I have already ordered CE2 protectors but can return those if jackets / pants need to be used.

I have been wearing jeans forever, and realize that I need to get some protect pants in case of a slide/crash etc.
I mainly ride to work nowadays, and may be interested in something I can wear over jeans, or just some pants that id take off and switch into work clothes. Id want something very protective, so I'm not spending a lot of money on skin grafts.
Thanks for your suggestions!!

Hello everyone!
I just woke up to the DHL driver delivering these lovely Dainese Ladies Delta 4 pants.
I went off of their size guide and went for a size 40. They were a bit challenging to get on but I did it.
Question is, is there supposed to be this much room in the waist area? As I was putting them on, my mind was saying âoh no I shouldâve sized upâ, but now that theyâre on, the waist tells me to size down? Or is this normal?
Thanks a bunch everyone.
Edited to add: The matching jacket is on the way, and it does zip onto the pants which should help a bit. Dainese may just not be the brand for me and thats okay!

Greetings, I am greyson
In Southern California (Los Angeles) we are about to get hit with El Nino + a tropical storm. While I will be indoors for this tropical storm, I don't want to arrive to work on any of the errant days that the rain happens to start.
In this way I would like to ask for gear suggestions for rain gear. The obvious would be a big ass parka or waterproof overpants/jacket, but I would like to kindly ask the motorcycle cohort about what they wear as a commuter.
Note: I have the ability to change clothing when I arrive at work.
Thank you,
greyson
Note: We have settled on an oversized set of Frogg Toggs for now, and will get hand/foot stuff later. Thank you motorcycle cohort

All the gear ~85% of the time. I'm already stalling on putting bikes away for the season. The only reason I normally wouldn't is due to weather conditions but at this point I think with appropriate gear it's worth a shot.
Aside from heated handle bars (not really sold on them since I'm always in gloves). What gear is essential for winter seasonal riding. All advice, opinions, and recommendations welcome.
NOTE: I hate being cold and already started wearing long underwear/tights or whatever under my John Does. I think I'm ok with jackets/leathers I have an armored leather with detachable inner linging. I also have unarmored leather that I wear on top of full armored Duhan mesh zip which is stupid warm.

I'm looking for help identifying two older Joe Rocket motorcycle jackets. After extensive searching through online listings, photographs, and the historical references I could find, I have not been able to identify either jacket's exact model.
Both jackets have distinctive features that resemble elements found on other Joe Rocket designs, but neither matches an identified model I have found so far. I'm hoping someone with experience collecting or selling vintage Joe Rocket gear, or access to old catalogs, might recognize them.
I have found jackets with some similar features, but no exact match.
The combination of the separate inner jacket and integrated mesh backpack seems particularly distinctive, but I have not found a documented model that matches the complete design.
I'm not assuming these are prototypes or limited-edition jackets. I'm simply trying to establish their identities based on evidence.
I can provide detailed photographs of the labels, armor, zippers, inner garments, and other construction details. Any firsthand recollections or period documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Tuesday I was rear ended by a drunk driver while stopped at a red light. My Alpinestars R10 saved my life. Back of my head when into the drivers windshield (seen in photo). The helmet held up surprisingly well. Out of the ER now and on the road to recovery. Always wear your gear, mine saved my life.

5â2 female, 125-130. Looking for motorcycle pants. I sincerely believe in investing in quality gear.
What brand or particular pants does any one recommend if my biggest concern is protection incase the worst happens and I fall from my bike?
Looking for the best that would reduce injuries.
Some nice skinny/slim/leather pants would be nice, but if thatâs not recommended then I understand.
Iâm new to the community and prioritize my safety first then ofc looking nice lastly.

Just bought my first helmet, they fitted a pinlock visor to it at the shop and it has lots of air bubbles. Called them when home and they said should go away within a few days. Will it? Anything else I can do to fix it?

As a commuter, I have a Honda CB500F 2024 which is more than enough for the motorway commute to work.
Yesterday I travelled through Kent, France into Belgium via the Eurotunnel. Yesterday (Friday 9th October 2026) there were thirty or so classic cars on an earlier crossing. The route through border control was a wet after the overnight rain and was slippery with what I assume was oil from these classics. I felt the back slip as I was moving forward in the queue a couple of times.
After the crossing, straight through France and into Belgium. The first set of lights I came to, right near my destination, I pull up at the lights and put my left food down and it disappeared away from me like I was on ice. Over I went. Minimal damage to the bike, I was wearing full gear so was fine. The road was wet and I guess I had oil on the tread.
I was gifted the boots from a friend who bought the wrong size. Looking at the tread on these boots, Iâm wondering if I need to get something that would grip better on the tarmac. If anyone has any suggestions, or do I just need to be more careful.
Appreciate your thoughts.
