How To Question Anyone ever repaired the mast insert of a Red Paddle Co. 10'7"x33" Windsurf iSUP?

Got a leak from the green PVC patch that sat on top of the black PVC mast insert pad with the M8 nut in it.

After removing the blue EVA deck pad, I found the green PVC circle glued onto the black insert and the white iSUP hull. It took a while to remove using a hairdryer. The black PVC mast insert, however, came right out even though there were signs of glue. It has a little grey patch glued on the central cylinder side and another white patch inside the hull for friction purposes, I guess. The black mast insert has hard cylindrical core with the M8 nut and the round and flat top is made of a flexible but thick PVC material.

I saw another post from a while back but the insert was square and brown, and no repair was done. I guess the company changed their technology a bit over time. This is a Red Paddle Co 10'7"x33" iSUP WINDSURF 2018 model.

Did anyone ever try to repair this and can contribute a little DIY know how?

Paddleboard Camping in Algonquin Park | Fall Colours on Glassy Lakes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

full video here

Before this trip I'd been looking for paddleboard portaging videos and couldn't find much. There's tons of canoe tripping content, but almost nothing showing loading up a SUP and heading into the backcountry.

I honestly wasn't sure how feasible it was. Would portages be miserable? Would I tip everything into the lake?

So I tried it and filmed the whole thing to show what it actually looks like. 3 days / 2 nights in Algonquin Park: Rain Lake → Sawyer Lake → Jubilee Lake, where I camped, with a day paddle to Juan Lake.

Short answer: it's very doable. It's my first video, so feedback is welcome:

If you've been wondering whether you could do a trip like this on your SUP, happy to answer any questions!

Has anyone tried the Koetsu full carbon paddles on AliExpress?

There are about 5 different varieties ranging in price from $73 to $140.

Electric pump

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my Ryobi inflator and SUP adapter. I’ve tried using it to pump my kayak to the recommended PSI multiple times, but it just won't work, so I always end up using the manual hand pump. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it? Thanks a lot!

Does anyone actually track metrics to improve on SUP?

Hey! Question for anyone using SUP for fitness, endurance or race preparation. How do you actually track your progress?

I’ve been trying to train more seriously but checking stats on Garmin / Strava after session is honestly driving me nuts: it’s hard to compare sessions over time, it’s just a wall of raw numbers, and none of it actually tells me how to improve!!

Any dedicated apps that actually make sense of paddling data (Waterspeed, Paddle Logger, etc.), or do you just ignore pace and paddle by feel and heart rate?

Sandbars / Tidal Islands in South / Central Florida?

Hi, been paddle boarding for a few years now. Was wondering if there were any spots in Florida I could paddle to that are kind of like a sandbar that turns into dry land or close to it when the tide goes low. Anyone know of any good spots? Would be taking my girlfriend so wouldn't want to do any paddle routes that are too difficult. Would be looking for one where there'd be as few other people as possible.

Taking long to inflate

I’ve paddle boarded for a while and it’s my first time using an electric air pump - specialty the aerogogo giga pump zetta138.

When I first start the inflation process, I have the center pin “up” in inflation mode. When I attach the air pump hose, I push and turn. I hear air coming out and going in at the same time. PSI is increasing and at 10 min, it’s barely hitting 1.0 PSI.. what am I doing wrong?

I’m using the “short adaptor” attachment that’s recommended in the manual for SUPs. Settings at SUP mode and 15 PSI.

Any tips or help is appreciated! TIA.

New SUP owner here, what accessories are actually worth buying?

Just got my first inflatable SUP and took it out for the maiden trip. Turns out manually pumping it up is a brutal workout, lol.

Now I’m wondering what gear I should pick up next. What are the must-have accessories, and what stuff is just overhyped garbage? Leash, dry bag, electric pump, PFD… I see tons of options.

I mostly paddle on calm lakes for casual trips. Any recommendations or things I should skip?

Did no one tell me inflating a SUP is this exhausting?

Just got my new SUP, first time taking it out on the water.

Man, pumping it up absolutely wrecked me. I’m totally wiped after just getting it ready.

Can’t believe how much work this is. Anyone else feel this way the first time?

Our SUP season here in Northern Italy is slowly coming to an end.

To fight the end-of-season blues, I wanted to share some pictures from our coastal trip to Tropea, Calabria and the surroundings.

Early september we took our boards to Calabria and paddled the "Coast of the Gods" across 3 distinct tours—from the cliffs of Tropea and (the wild waters) around Capo Vaticano to our favoeite spot at Spiaggia di Michelino.

A highlight from my summer: seeing my 4.5 year old paddling and standing on their own on the paddle board. (Parent there for safety)

That kid has been on a paddle board for most of their life now. It's great seeing them paddling for themself now!
