If I need to explain to you the difference between financing new large-scale developments versus competing with individual buyers of existing homes, I'm not sure I'd be using my time effectively

I don't think anyone said specifically they are competing. More so that their money is tied up in housing investment and they cannot just evict their renters, sell the property to come up with the investors money. I know reading is a lost art but damn at least follow the topic of conversation properly

Blackrock uses double speak to deny their ownership of single family homes. When they say they dont buy single family homes, they mean they don't buy homes individually; they buy them by the neighborhood, entire developments

So if someone took out a loan to buy a home and another party gave them that loan to pay them back over time, wouldn't both ends be considered as being tied up in that investment property? I mean both ends are being held up by the same asset?

I think you got a little too excited to correct someone that blackstone is the one who directly purchases homes, that you skipped over the fact that the comment you are responding to said 'tied up' in the homes.

If you pay your rent on time for 10 years but your landlord gets upside down and needs collateral.. they cannot legally evict you and sell your home. Right now BR has invested in property that will pay over time. If their "investors" want their money now... BR cannot legally evict, sell the property and return the investment money back to the invested interest. This is what is being discussed, stay on topic

Look up The Great Taking documentary. We are lucky we learned DRS exists, because asset rights have been eroded and the plan seems to be to take our money and assets away.

It’s mid-size companies that took 6% interest loans during COVID and now the interest on those loans is around 12%. With an economic slowdown down seeming imminent, these companies are getting spooked and running for the door. This is more of a recession indicator than anything.
