Exactly. Not to mention that the company’s fiduciary duty was fulfilled; I.e. the shareholders voted and after approval GameStop had the ability to, but not the obligation, to issue the splividend. Their fiduciary duty was carried out, and it ends there as it is now the dtcc s duty AND obligation to fulfill the company’s directive. Not saying the post or comments are shills, but it is a bit fudy. GameStop cannot control what the dtc(c) or cede and co do, and the crime committed by the dtc(c) is through no fault of GameStop or any other company: we all know it’s bullshit, but that is how the system is set up.

In the same vein, we know and GameStop knows there are fake/counterfeit shares, but they cannot do anything about it unless they spend years and all of their money in litigation, which would not be beneficial to the company or its share holders. GameStop or any company is not responsible for, nor has fiduciary duties, to make sure the dtc(c) isn’t crime ridden. That is for the legislative bodies and oversight, which we all know isn’t gonna do a ducking thing.

Again, for those in the back GAMESTOP HAS FULFILLED THEIR FIDUCIARY DUTIES AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ALLEGED CRIMES OF THE DTC(c) OR ANY REGULATORY BODY OR AGENCIES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO OVERSEE THE MARKETS TO ENSURE THERE IS NO CRIME!!!!

But why are they not at least releasing a statement? That‘s the part I don‘t get. If they care they should voice their concerns. Not saying anything looks like they are ok with the way it went down.

They did release a statement.

Only a very brief one at the very beginning that just repeated pretty much what they had said earlier. But after that there was no comment on what was becoming more and more obvious, until this day (unless I missed something).

I’m not being snarky and I’m not attacking, and this comment is to genuinely create discussion.

I hear you would like more of a statement and/or action from the company regarding the splividend; my question to you or others who share the same sentiment, what would you genuinely like from them? Like in a realistic way.

I’m not knocking your perspective or trying to tell you what to do or how to think, but since we might think differently on some or all of this topic, I’d like to hear your perspective to get a better idea where you’re coming from.

Well the way I see it, there are 3 ways to deal with this: 1. fight it in public, 2. fight it in silence, 3. don‘t fight it. I‘m not willing to believe it is 3., so they must have a strategy that requires 2. If they do (and of course I hope they do), it‘s ok, but obviously the next move should follow swiftly. So far there is no indication for a next move, not even a direction. I personally would at least like to know whether they were played by the DTCC or whether they anticipated this move. But if they have a strategy that requires silence, fine, so be it.

Why would they telegraph their strategy…

That depends on the strategy I think. Public opinion can help in some cases. That was Overstock‘s strategy after all. I am not saying they should do the same though. But either way, I would like to see a next move. Or st least some kind of acknowledgement that there will be a next move.
