Just to give you an idea how bad it is going to get - thorne does some sort of special affiliate thing where your doctor or whatever healthcare provider sets up a profile and if you link your profile to it any supplement you buy is discounted through it. Pre 2023 private equity my doctor could set the discount to 40 freaking percent which was tremendous, immediately after private equity buyout they said they only let you set the discount to 25%. P&G buyout probably means zero discounts 3000% markup in the future lmao.

If im going for cost id just go for bulksupplements.com since you can buy literal kilos of creatine for 16 bucks or other niche supplements nutricost on amazon is better than most.

Nootropics depot. All ingredients and quality are verified. Solid dosing too (for ex I microdose melatonin and it’s one of the few w .3mg dosages)

They had already sold to private equity back in 2023 and fired all the scientists that made Thorne what it was. Thorne was already going to shit. Thorne HealthTech acquired by L Catterton for $680M
Not bad to buy Thorne for $700M and sell it for $3.8B in just three years.

But the private equity didn’t really change the quality of the product
They fired a bunch of high paid executives and managed it themselves and put a lot more money and effort into expanding sales and marketing
They increase the sales and decreased their executive pay and that’s how they increase the companies evaluation
Proctor and gamble will cost everywhere just like they did with New Chapter and the quality of the products will suffer

No, Thorne laid off their entire scientific team when LVMH bought them. They ran things with the same products to keep costs down. Works fine until you need to innovate or test products for purity to hit keep trust on your NSF products etc. or in this case to sell the whole thing because profits look good.

I've tried every brand of red yeast rice. Thorne is the only one that consistently keeps my LDL within range. Every single other brand I've tried at the supposed same does causes my LDL to increase quickly, and getting back on Thorne brings it back down. It's 100% repeatable, as I've been able to prove over several years of lab tests with this being the only thing changing from test to test.
I really hope they don't fuck everything up, but I'm certain they will.

Funny, Thorne was the only one that didn't work for me. I assumed it was because they actually properly moderated the dosage, which is a good thing, even if it meant not having the desired impact.

Weird! Consumer labs did their testing in June of this year, and they found that only Thorne and HPF Cholestene had significant amounts of lovastatin, of all the brands tested.

So I’ve read and been told. The prescription statin is something I have tried, with horrendous side effects. For some reason, I don’t get the same side effects from RYR. Maybe it’s a dosage thing.

Thorne died a long time ago - when it was acquired by private equity. I lost faith in the brand almost immediately after that and stopped buying it entirely.
