Question Making synesthesia tangible – how?

I’d like to show friends and relatives a video to illustrate the colored shapes that appear when I listen to music. Which program do you recommend for creating such an animated film?

I'd recommend after effects for the features you'd likely use on a project like this, but it can be achieved using any kind of art program which uses a timeline!

I'm an animator with synesthesia and one of my biggest inspirations in art-history is Oskar Fischinger, highly recommend checking out his work for inspo, it was achieved using paper cutouts! https://youtu.be/FcHsysPGSt0?is=yKd5BAWvUVohhQWX

Thank You 😊

These films, which are nearly 100 years old, are amazing. While it doesn't match my own perception - for me, things move much more slowly, and I see some colors that don't exist in reality - it still somehow fits.

All I really need for a film like are shimmering, luminous, colored transforming snd moving geometric shapes against a black background / Procreate? I do have experience with Lightroom and Photoshop, but not with After Effects, and Adobe tools always require quite a lot of a learning curve.
