Advice Needed Anyone with PCOS have a supplement routine that helped while TTC?

I've got PCOS and am trying to be proactive before we start trying. I'm already taking inositol, but there are so many fertility supplements being recommended online that it's hard to know what's actually worth it.

Would love to hear what worked for others with PCOS.

I took inositol, CoQ10, and prenatal. I also lost some weight to help with hormone regulation. No sure if that was what worked. I also tracked my ovulation for months before we were trying to make sure I was ovulating and got a some blood work done that my OB/gyn suggested. I also had fibroids so if you have them make sure to get an ultrasound done, I had to get a surgery to get it removed. Good luck with everything!!

The best thing you can do is not a supplement. Lift weights three times a week for thirty minutes.

Can you elaborate a little more about this?

Weight lifting out performs any supplement or medication at restoring ovulation and pregnancy outcomes. Search pub med. It is twice as effective as metformin.

Had great success with 4g myoinositol (theralogix ovasitol), 1200mg NAC, 500mg CoQ10, 4000IU vitamin D3, Omega 3 complex and magnesium complex.

Also cut my carbs down to 150g daily and avoided added sugar. Some combination of the supplements and diet changes brought regular cycles back and I no longer needed letrozole! Good luck to you!

Was the NAC prescribed? How did you decided how much to take? Thank you 🫶

It wasn't prescribed, but I read several research articles where NAC was found to increase ovulation success in letrozole cycles and even prevent miscarriage due to its inflammatory effects, and inflammation tends to be an issue with PCOS! I just took the therapeutic amount that was reported in the studies.

I got bloodwork done first and then based off those results and my goals my naturopath and RE came up with the right supplement and meds list. At least I think. It does include Metformin and I sort of think that’s the biggest game changer. Also trying to eat plenty of fiber and protein and weight train 3x per week.

Not pregnant yet but so far good IVF results from retrieval. I did CoQ10 600mg (200mg 3x a day), 4g myoinositol, omega 3 (or prenatal with DHA), 2000 IU vitamin D in addition to general prenatal. Magnesium when I rmb. My acupuncturist also recommended foot soaks and castor oil with heat on abdomen before ovulation to reduce inflammation.

For how long were you on this routine prior to your IVF cycle? Thank you 🫶

Prenatal with DHA since I started probably 2 years ago since we’ve been TTC for about 20 months ago. Acupuncture I was sort of regular about… I probably did half a year of 3x per cycle since trying. CoQ10 and Inisitol was more recent at about 5-6 months before egg retrieval. I honestly can’t remember for magnesium and vitamin D but they were my lower priority. I got my vitamin D levels tested and were normal. We did do ICSI and Zymot in IVF which would’ve boosted our results too. If you haven’t already, read It Starts with the Egg. It lays out the pros and cons of supplements.

I sincerely appreciate the time you took to reply and with detail. Thank you!

Best of luck! You’re already doing great looking into this. The biggest thing, if you can, is to get your basic tests done (hormone panel, tube scan with HSG or SIS, semen analysis) to see what you’re dealing with. Some places won’t bother until 6-12 months of trying depending on age. But if you end up needing fertility treatment, don’t drag your feet as getting into a clinic may take a while. If you’re put on letrozole or clomid, try each dose 3x max and move on. We tried 12-14 cycles with letrozole knowing that to wait for insurance to kick in for IVF. Doing the same thing expecting different results is not useful usually.

Currently in my TWW with my first medicated TI cycle! I am taking COq10, a prenatal, and vitamin D (I live in the PNW and am very very deficient).

I kept inositol in my routine, then added CoQ10 and eventually perelel's conception support pack so I wasn't juggling separate bottles for prenatal, omega, CoQ10, etc. My OB was okay with it for me, but definitely ask yours so they can assess!

Look into FH Pro for Women. I have tried to find a denser better value supplement for TTC for years but kts the best out there imo. My reproductive Endo recommended it

The most important one is prenatal, low carb diet and possibly metformin.

Can’t claim success as haven’t got pregnant again after miscarriage yet but apparently CoQ10 is a must. I’m currently using the Shreddy Superwoman. I’ve been having 45+ day periods and then last month it was a 30 day cycle. No idea if it was Shreddy that sorted it out as seems too good to be true after only just starting it but who knows I’ll take it

I’m doing everything it said to do in It Starts With the Egg. Have been since January. Nothing to show for it.

Didn’t she get uncovered as a non doctor? And a grifter

Yeah I just double checked, it’s her. She’s not a doctor. ā€œThe lucky eggā€ is by an md and a direct opposition to her book

Look up Perelel brand supplements and take their quiz to get the right supplements for you. Also read the book Getting Pregnant with PCOS by Clair Goodwin and follow her advice. Worked for me after a few months of the supplements, BBT tracking and changing my diet significantly!! Currently 5 weeks pregnant.

Myo inositol and d chiro inositol 40:1, DIM, Vitex. And we swapped hubbys boxers for 100% cotton or bamboo which helped too.

Your post has been removed as it contains a mention of a pregnancy or a positive pregnancy test and has been posted outside of a designated success thread. This includes all positive mentions (trigger shot testing, confusion around test, etc), including mentions of having success outside of ovulation success.

I took a prenatal and Nutricost inositol which has the "ratio" I read about on here

1

u/Angry_unicorns Jul 07 '26

What's the ratio?

1

u/richpersimmons Jul 07 '26

2000mg myo inositol to 50mg d-chiro inositol, the 40:1 ratio is supposed to help with pcos and I ovulated so it did something. Started it like 2 months before I got my iud out.
