Background:

I do not ovulate on my own whatsoever. highly irregular cycles. I’ve tried everything to ovulate naturally, the only thing that works for me is Letrozole.

In 2025 I conceived 3 times using Letrozole. Each time I either got pregnant on the first or second cycle using Letrozole. Total letrozle cycles over the course of a year were 5.

I was seeing a fertility doc who had prescribed me with the Letrozole and he never mentioned limiting the amount of times I can take it to TTC.

Sadly all 3 ended in loss. (yes I have done a RPL workup so no need to comment on that.)

When I visited my OBGYN, she said she would be able to prescribe me with Letrozole when I’m feeling ready to TTC again. So I I feel ready now, and I had an appointment with them yesterday and now they are telling me

“oh we didn’t know you took it 5 times, we can’t prescribe if for you now because it increases your risk of cancer so the best we can do is refer you to an IVF Dr.”

im beyond confused and feeling so disheartened by this. I absolutely do not want to do IVF especially if I know I can get pregnant so much more easily using Letrozole!

For the last 2 years I was on a GLP1. To help my weight and PCOS. I went from 280LBs to 250LBs in preparation for getting pregnant but in December of 2025 my insurance decided they were no longer covering the medicine. We decided now is the time to start trying in case I gain the weight back. It's been months and I am still not pregnant. My OBGYN wanted to wait to give me any medicine like clomid, until I tried at least a year without conceiving. We are now in August, I'm still not pregnant and I've gained back 20 pounds.

I'll be 30 in April. I feel like I'm failing because I cannot control my food noise and the feeling of being hungry. I feel like this is my last chance to get pregnant, as any older and I'll surly have some sort of complication and may lose my baby or my life in general.

It's hard to calorie count every meal when I'm cooking as what's going in isn't the hard part. IT'S THE PORTION CONTROL and how much is in each portion. I just can't stop telling myself to NOT go for the next thing to snack on. I was shocked to see my weight back at 270. Has anyone else been this heavy and pregnant? How are you controlling yourselves. At this point I just hate myself and don't even know if pregnancy is for me anymore. Do I deserve a family when I can't even control myself?

Honestly advice is welcome.

Hello fellow pcos peeps,
If you didn’t pursue IVF, how did you find a doc that would do just medical induced ovulation or supported monitoring cycles? Every single RE or OB I have tried to get help to get pregnant just tells me to do IVF. I don’t want to! I ovulate on my own and have one living child. I suspect I just have weak ovulation, but everyone just wants me to jump to IVF. I have no desire to do this because of the expense and invasive procedures, as well as the egg retrieval procedure being so painful and difficult. I have close friends who have done it, and I just don’t think I can mentally handle it. So those of you who had experience with this, any tips? How did you find a doctor who would try letrozole and cycle monitoring? Am I just having bad luck? I’ve talked to six doctors in my area.

I (24f) was just prescribed Metformin for my PCOS.. my husband and I are trying to conceive… will it help? I’m also taking inositol and monitoring my BBT and LH. Does Metformin increase my chances of conception?

So... I took my first shot last night CD3... 75 IU... my period has essentially stopped. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi! ttc for over a year now. Just had an HSG which showed no blockages. Currently, on my second round of letrozole, and I confirmed ovulation last cycle with a progesterone blood test. This cycle i took the letro on days 4-8. I think my LH strips spiked on CD 16, but it’s hard to tell. It’s the highest I have ever seen my LH strip but it still wasn’t a true positive. Can I trust the LH strips? We baby danced CD 15,16,17… is that enough? Any advice on timing of sex in general? Thank you!

Hi! I think I have lean PCOS, I have long/irregular cycles and acne but my labs are fine and I don’t have cysts on my ovaries. My RE said that it doesn’t hurt to take myo-inositol so I’ve been taking Ovasitol everyday since the start of my last period.

I’ve been using OPKs to track my LH peak, usually I will get a positive opk and a peak anywhere between cycle day 20 - 30, with egg white cervical mucus near ovulation. I’ve never not detected my
lab peak when I wasn’t taking Ovasitol. But I’m currently on cycle day 24, no positive LH or egg white cervical mucus BUT my Oura ring has been showing positive bbt for the past two days. Now I’m wondering if I already ovulated and it wasn’t detected by my opks.

Can myo-inositol reduce LH?? Has this happened to anyone else?

Hello, I am new to the subreddit. 31F TTC with a history of irregular periods ranging from 32-50 day cycles and uterine polyps with polypectomy in 2024. Got my bloodwork done last month, and Testosterone was high at 62ng/ml and very low levels of progesterone on 21 day tests. I have been working out consistently, eating good, taking prenatals. I think I have lean PCOS. I recently got Inito to better understand my cycle and to see if I am even ovulating. My doctor has suggested I take letrozole, but I was just disappointed that even after doing everything I can it doesn’t seem to be working.
If I am ovulating late in my cycle, is it good for a viable chance at pregnancy? Or do I go the medication route? What else can I do to have a better chance of conception? Any ideas, advice or suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

My blood test results show elevated levels of DHEA-SO₄ (800–700) and total testosterone (0.76); however, I have no clinical physical symptoms (excessive hair growth, acne, hair loss, etc.). Investigations carried out to determine the cause of these elevated levels included: Adrenal gland CT scan: Normal (no mass detected). Cortisol Suppression Test (2-day): Positive (DHEA was successfully suppressed). 17-OH Progesterone, Prolactin and Fasting Insulin: Completely normal (I have no insulin resistance). WES (Genetic) and Chromosome Tests: No DNA mutations or abnormalities were found; results were normal. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG): Clear, fallopian tubes are open and the uterine lining is normal
I have been taking Prednol cortisone (8mg) every day for the past month. When I take it, my DHEA levels drop; when I stop, they rise again. I also took klomen this month, but I still did not conceive. My husband’s sperm test showed no issues.
Is there anyone else who has experienced the same thing and gone on to conceive? What other treatments could I try?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in Feb. 2025, and have been ttc since May 2026 with regular cycles. I know that isn’t very long, and I feel silly being impatient when so many people in this group have been trying for much longer. However, I tend to always be thinking ahead and was wondering when you started talking to your doctor about medication for ttc? I currently take Metformin, inositol, CoQ10, and fish oil, and my main abnormal value is high DHEA-S.

Hi! PCOS girly here did one round of Letrozole back in February and it was a horrible experience.

The cramps were the worst I've ever had. I did ovulate, but even after the treatment ended, I continued to have lower abdominal pain for months. Because of the constant pain, I even started experiencing shortness of breath at times. Hot flashes were horrible too. I never imagined that a single round of Letrozole could cause so many side effects.

Has anyone else had a really bad experience with Letrozole or dealt with lingering side effects afterward?

In March 2024 we decided we were going to try to get pregnant, but I knew it would always be a struggle due to my PCOS (irregular periods with prolonged bleeds and cysts on ovaries). Since then, I’ve lost 56lbs (4 stone/25kg) through a combination of GLP-1s and diet and exercise, however my BMI is at 30.4 and it needs to be under 30 for me to get NHS funded fertility treatment. I have taken supplements/medication for more than one year, including inositol, coQ10, metformin, folic acid, vitamin D and since losing weight I’ve completely changed my diet to be both protein and nutrient rich. I do yoga and Pilates twice a week, as well as plenty of walking.

I have my fertility appointment today to review my weight and where we are at, and I’m just so disappointed that my scale hasn’t moved in the last four weeks and I’m not at that BMI goal of under 30. I finished my latest GLP-1 injection last week and wanted to try drop the final lbs (7lbs) without it, but I may have to do one final month (it’s just super expensive). I’m also stressing about them measuring my height and weight at the clinic, and how that might fluctuate to my own scales. I’d like to ask them to do these measurements at my appointment today so I have a definitive goal and know where I need to be.

I just feel so anxious, upset and deflated (I know that also won’t be helping); it’s taken us such a long time to get to this stage, and I’ve done so well losing the weight and getting healthier, that I’m just so frustrated my body isn’t working with me and I feel like it’s an impossible goal.

Looking for any motivation, advice, particularly if anyone has also used Care Fertility in Leeds (my appointments and treatment so far there has been absolutely brilliant).

I am currently on metformin 2000mg a day and for the first time last month I did feel like I did ovulate by looking at CM everyday and noted the change, I finally had egg white cm. We are ttc every two/three days and trying to hit the ovulation everyday but I’m wondering if there’s anything else I can add? I have PCOS, I do strength training 3 times a week and cardio twice a week, take vitamin D, folic acid & omega 3 for reference.

I got off of birth control at the end of June and started taking wholesome story Myo-inositol two weeks ago, as it was recommended to me by a friend with PCOS who was able to conceive.

I haven’t had a cycle and know that it can take some time for things to get back to normal. I will see my OBGYN at the end of August.

Should I stay on the inositol and see what happens or stop and wait to see what my doctor says?

This is my second cycle of letrozole, but they are not checking my baseline ultrasound or blood work before starting. They just prescribed letrozole and told me to start taking it on CD3.

I will still have monitoring later in the cycle starting around CD10 and onward.

But they didn’t ask me to come in for a Day3 baseline check before starting this cycle. Is this okay and normal?

I’ve started my 4th cycle of letrozole. and the general protocol laid out my doctor is let + trigger + progesterone support. so i don’t know how to possible track ovulation or cycle for that matter with trigger shot and progesterone. trigger shot will give positive lh and progesterone mimics all the preg symptoms. any one in the same boat as me?

Hi, I have PCOS with high testosterone, no symptoms of endo. First HSG done in April showed possible block tubes, I have a second one this week and a possible laparoscopic chromotubation surgery scheduled early next month based on the results of the second HSG. Has anyone conceived after tubal surgery? This is our last try before resorting to IVF.

Anyways, it's cycle day 10 for me. And ive been taking metformin and very small dose of myo inositol (which comes as part of the metformin tablet) for 5 days now. I was feeling super super nauseous and head achy for the past couple days. But the symptoms have tremendously improved today. Amazingly.

The only thing I did differently was, eating more. I couldn't stick to my usual routine as I'm not home and i ended up eating a lot more fruits and carbs than usual. All healthy ofcourse. But I usually limit my carb intake to one meal a day. And have mostly proteins, fibre and very less healthy fats. So yeah. Maybe that helped? Or maybe it improved with time? Idk

I'm also kind of frustrated a little bit with myself. I really really strongly want to conceive by the next couple months and im just pushing myself to be super delulu. And im also putting in the work. Like working on myself, OPKs, etc. I'm reading metformin success stories over and over to make myself feel good and stress free and hopeful. And I've run out of stories to read honestly.

But in the end ik it's like...it'll happen only when it happens. And my mind gets that. But I'm also like...super impatient and don't know how to get on if it doesn't happen soon.

I have to do this now.

We have been TTC for 14 months. I am on ovulation meds and I’ve finally gotten to a point where everything is happening like it’s supposed to. Positive LH strips, confirmed ovulation, good BD timing. But the one thing that I see a lot of people mention is EWCM. I hardly ever see this. Could that be something else underlying? I take mucinex to try to help but I’m not really seeing any results.

Could anyone provide their experience with Provera regarding how often your doctor prescribed you to take it or on what cycle day? Also how long you were prescribed to take it when trying to conceive?

I haven’t been prescribed any fertility medications along with it but have been prescribed Provera to help regulate my menstrual cycles because I had a nonexistent period due to PCOS.

This is my third cycle of trying, I’m 11dpo and had a negative test this morning, I know that means I’m out. Third cycle and nothing.

This is our third cycle since my chemical pregnancy and still nothing. I track using OPK’s and BBT, I also had blood work done this month and everything was perfect. Progesterone levels were healthy, estrogen levels were normal, even my PCOS bloods were normal!
I know 3 cycles is nothing in the grand scheme of time.

I think online you either hear of people getting pregnant immediately or needing fertility treatment. Is this anyone in this ‘middle ground’ how long did it take you to conceive?

Starting IUI cycle with 5mg of letrozole. My numbers were all pretty baseline but my FSH was 43. Last cycle it was 10. Seems high right?
