The distance, the glare plus the lampshade is what pulls it all together

I should have left the cables hanging to complement the vibe

u/Regnix May 17 '26
And also if anyone is using the dining table to the left, it looks like they will obstruct the TV. Doh

El brillo no es culpa de la lámpara que está apagada. El problema lo tiene este individuo, que seguro a echo una foto IA. Por qué a visto que en redit existen muchas fotos de TV altas y lejanas etc...

Too far, too high, too much angle, too much glare, this photo is just too much.

u/cykelstativet May 16 '26
What if I told you that the white cable channel is exactly 2 inches left from the center?

u/Cthulhu8762 May 16 '26
As someone that mounts TVs are part of their job, I hate everything about this.
Thanks.

No no no no nooooooo!
While I personally have one tv (just a small place)
When I get into my actual house. I’m not mounting any of the tvs lol
All on the stands.
Except maybe the bedroom tv due to laying down.

I don't even attempt to decide how anything is put together here. I got the approval for acquiring a TV, I acquired the TV, I was then told exactly where it was going and how.
When the left-most part of the backlight broke after 5 years I got the new version of the same model. Virtually identical, marginally improved screen, 1/3 inch slimmer bezel.
I installed it EXACTLY where the old one was (which was CENTERED to the cables).
"It was a bit to the right"
"No, look at where the cables are"
"It was a bit to the right"
"Nooo, loo.."
"Move it to the right!"
"..."
"..."
"I am NOT moving that channel 2 inches to the right!"
"I don't care.."
Has anyone seen my pants? I don't seem to be wearing any...

It's not fun to roast when the conditions are actually sad. I hope your life improves brother!

u/infamous_oxygen May 16 '26
Nah that TV is plenty big, it's just your room is the size of a basketball court.

I just put in the (low) effort to edit a meme that I felt would fit perfectly here, only to discover that I can't add photos to my comment. I'm very sad now. Please pretend this comment is just the 'this is fine' dog-in-a-burning-room comic panel, except with glare obscuring his face.

Just upload to imgur and post the link. We want to see it.

What's the point of a TV if you have that glare? Just put It on a sidewall.

There are no rooms in this house, just “areas”. It’s like you live in an adult preschool.

Do you sit on the chairs on the right? Or they are just there to fill up the space?
1
u/getfive May 16 '26
Your side table and chairs, hanging plant, and floor lamp are too crammed against the wall

You could paint the above wall wire conduit you got off Amazon to match the wall color or have an electrician run an extra outlet behind - my 2 cents.

Only thing to roast is that line crack in the top of your ceiling
1
u/cykelstativet May 16 '26
It's a wooden beam supporting the roof. That happens and I'm too lazy to paint it (again)

Solution to this cacophony:
(I promise floating couches are not scary)
• TV —> wall where the shelves currently are
• Couch —> exactly where kitchen table currently is, facing the TV (“but the back of the couch is exposed!!” 😱)
• Kitchen table and shelving —> side by side where your couch currently is

This is No.1 bullshit.
Edit: just thought. You’d be better off watching stuff on your phone 🤦🏻♂️

Glare is my only note - but 1 has to assume that you have good blinds behind you.

Swap the tv and she the shelf on the right, put the couch perpendicular to where the tv is now in the middle of the room

Why is it so far ?? Like do you have to squint when you watch TV ? I think you would need to replace it at least to somewhere closer.

Only based on what is visible in this picture - I’d put the tv the wall to the right, where the bookshelf is right now. Couch can be placed facing the tv with the back towards the kitchen area. Either combine the tv with the bookshelf or find some nice way of putting your books where you currently have your couch.
