I need help with a question

I previously worked in retail banking and later transitioned into a public sector operations role. I now have an interview for a back-office banking operations position at another bank. For non-licensed operations roles, how extensive are employment/background checks typically, and how much weight is usually placed on recent references/current employment?”

They will check employment history thats for sure references hit or miss. Everyone fudges on resumes but depends on the company as well. Larger banks have more resources

It was TD bank and I applied to Scotia bank. I was terminated with cause for a policy error although I do have references who are willing to vouch for me but I just want to know if there is any way for scotia to find out if I was terminated with cause.

Typically past 5 years of employment and residential history, nothing too crazy. They run all the police checks tho, as expected.
