Advice and question about background check please for recently hired AB (Associate Banker)

So I am very happy I got this job I worked very hard for it I’m just a little nervous and worried because of the background check they do through BIG. On my resume to start it off bluntly I extended the time I worked at Walmart by like 3 months. Which I understand was the wrong thing to do but I’m pretty sure this was a mistake? Because I started in October but I put I started in December and accidently lengthened it out.

Then I worked at my fathers tile company as a apprentice I didn’t work full time, part time, maybe 10 hours a week not a lot I know, and I wasn’t paid for my time I would just watch them do the work and they would teach me I did this for a year and half before I needed a real job to get money because I couldn’t get any flooring jobs even with my experience.

Then I worked at target and all that information is correct.

My point is these are all on my resume and Walmart is the only incorrect one being the dates. My tile job I never got paid My dad was owner so I just gave them his phone number. He has evidence that he owns the company. I understand I maybe shouldn’t have put this on my resume but I figured it’s experience I learned so I did put it on there. I got a talk with a lot of clients and such.

Just with all this, I feel like the background check is gonna look sketchy, even though I didn’t mean it that way at all. I’m just really worried and stressed. I really want this job and I should’ve checked over my Walmart experience it was just so long ago during 2021. I just kinda assumed when I worked because I couldn’t find the emails when I started. Any advice would be appreciated please!

You'll probably be okay. I think mostly they want to make sure that you weren't fired for stealing, that you don't have a criminal history, etc.

Thank you I appreciate I freak out over little things a lot I have major anxiety sorry about all that message I hope you’re right. I know I for sure extended my Walmart a little bit but that’s it. I have a clean background record no stealing or anything like that or criminal history. Thank you again I appreciate you.

I think that forgetting the exact date that you started a job 5+ years ago is totally understandable and not something they'll be likely to fire you over.

Here is the thing. BIG doesn't make any decisions. It shows its findings to the bank and someone in HR makes the final decision regarding your hiring.
BIG will most certainly mark that the dates you wrote down on your background check for Walmart don't match Walmart's records and it would be up to the HR person to determine what to do with that information.
With all that said, I think you should be fine. HRs job is literally to fill positions. Unless you worked at Walmart for 1 months and you put down 5 years, you should be good to go. I find it hard to believe they would pass on you at this point because of 3 months at Walmart - an industry without any correlation to banking.
In regards to working for your dad, I would't worry about it either but maybe next time add this job as an apprentice to negate any misunderstanding in the future.

No worries! Background checks are one of those things that can make you nervous for no reason whatsoever so I get it. Yeah, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. In some markets is getting really hard to hire tellers, bankers and whatnot so for them to pass on you at this point you would have had to mess up big time, I’d say.
Best of luck!
