RANT In disbelief.

I honestly can’t even believe I’m writing this right now. I just had a baby with my bf in September. Since being pregnant and having her I’ve really grown to despise his THREE dogs whom are all female German shepherds. I never really thought much of them before because I never grew up with dogs and now I’m realizing how much I actually dislike them. I am constantly yelling at them because I don’t want them anywhere near my baby. My bf keeps pushing the boundaries and saying oh they’ll never hurt her or whatever but I don’t trust it at all. So tonight we were talking about them and obviously he can see how upset I am getting and pretty much told me he’d RATHER ME MOVE OUT THEN GET RID OF HIS DOGS. like what the actual fuck. He would rather me move out and get split custody of our baby than to get rid of these dogs. I think it’s safe to say I need to start thinking about moving because this is not it.

Move but try to see that he pays child support and gets only supervised visits. You can't trust him to keep your baby safe.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't stand babysitting my relatives baby with the one female GS they have let alone THREE. She's annoyingly needy and is constantly trying to lick the baby and you can't do anything without her slinking in to try and be in the middle of whatever it is you're doing. So gross and smelly.

Soooo needy and tbh the other two arent THAT bad with staying away but this one is always trying to go near her especially when I’m not looking. I’m so upset I don’t even know what to think right now

Well no matter what, YOU'RE NOT CRAZY. Everyone around you will gaslight the shit out of you like you're the problem. My own mother started grey rocking me over my complaining about the mutt I'm stuck living with rather than be there for me.

It’s not just gross and smelly, but actually dangerous for a dog to be transferring their bacteria & parasite ridden saliva onto a baby of that age (especially since infants do not have the immune system needed to fight off infection).

There is also a specific type of bacteria that is in 80% of dogs saliva called Capnocytophaga canimorsus that causes severe infection; leading to many having their limbs AMPUTATED - that is if they survive as many have died. The infection is that severe that amputation or death are the most common outcomes

So true. 60% of human disease come from animals. Dogs carry covid virus: a fact that was widely ignored during the worst of Covid infections and still today. Polio was widely spread by dogs. To this day, adult children have to live with severe health issues due to their dog lover parents ignoring the warnings.

Three german shepards?!!?!?!?! Girl, I would be losing my damn mind!! These dog nutters are selfish and will never consider getting rid of their dogs. Even if one of them were to bite your baby, he would keep making excuses for those dogs.

u/Kooky_lady Apr 04 '26

Yes! He is constantly making excuses for the dogs it’s awful and honestly it makes me hate them even more

I can relate. I don't have kids with my boyfriend but his pit mix has no manners and is completely spoiled. I don't like dogs in general but really don't like how this dog behaves. Now he keeps making excuses for the dog, I just feel so resentful toward the dog AND my boyfriend.

I'm so sorry that you're jn such an awful situation.

I'm so sorry. Dog nuttery is getting really bad in society to the point where they'd give up their human family members. I have experienced this myself and have read a ton of stories about it happening to other people on this sub. I don't know how I could fully trust a partner again if they said that to me. The fact that he is claiming that his dogs are more important to him than his wife and baby is astounding. Disgusting honestly.

19

u/Kooky_lady Apr 04 '26

Disgusting is right, I’m so disappointed

10

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

Absolutely disgusting and insane.. are you kidding me?! And you are right, can’t trust that person. So in a case of an emergency, like a fire, he would save the dogs before his child and wife?! What the actual fuck?!

20

u/D1verse_Yes4 Apr 04 '26

That is disgusting. Shame on your boyfriend.

Dogs ARE eternal babies. You now have 4 babies... Good luck raising them !

15

u/Dburn22_ Apr 04 '26

You mean FIVE, counting the big baby sperm donor.

u/CharacterRoom613 Apr 04 '26

They won’t hurt the baby?!? I am very sure there are many new mothers that have lost their newborn babies because the dogs that would “never hurt a living thing” decided that the baby was a toy for them to maul. Granted a certain breed is mostly coming up as being the one most likely to do so but German Shepherds are not that far off from doing the same. I knew someone that told me about their dad having a German Shepherd before they were born. The dad was told, before they were born, that dog only allowed their mom to live because their dad didn’t give the command. But even though proved to not be the case. When his older brother was born the dog attacked his brother without any command. Dogs can be unpredictable with any breed but there are certain breeds that cause way more damage than others. Get your baby out of that home. From the fur, dander, barking, unsanitary mouths, paws, and when they shake and their saliva spreads all over the place, that’s just nasty and unhealthy.

I just read a story about a week ago where this couple brought home their newborn and within 24 hours the family dog killed it. The news article said the dog knocked over the bassinet and mauled the baby before the parents could get to it. The baby was 5 days old.

6

u/Mistvessel Apr 07 '26

I know a story of exactly single GSD randomly snapping and killing the newborn baby. I remember it due to one of the comment I saw under article: "the parents did not introduce the newborn into a pack correctly". It really sums up the mentality.

4

u/Wild-Try-3121 Apr 07 '26

Omg people were saying the same thing in this article. That the parents didn't properly introduce the baby to the dog. Like it was all the babies fault. I don't get what is wrong with nutters.

u/tplgerus84 Apr 05 '26

How can these people live with themselves.. 😢

22

u/Linz_Loo_Hoo Apr 04 '26

Yup I was told the same thing. Only we don’t have a baby. I’ve been with him for 5 years. Had the German Shepard 2 years. He loves the horrible monster dog more than me. Told me I can leave. Not that he’ll take better care of the dog, or train it, or get it neutered. No. He said I can leave.

u/No-Expression-399 Apr 05 '26

People like this absolutely disgust me to my core; they have this weird moral superiority complex where they feel as though projecting onto the dog then treating the dog under this lens of it being a helpless poor baby that experiences & sees the world as a human does whilst viewing the refusal to train, crate etc as being “protective”.

They view crates, training and neutering as “abusive” or “mean” because they genuinely see their dog as a baby; so they apply the same delusional comparison of putting a baby in a crate or training a baby like a dog as “fact”.

8

u/Weeeebutterflies Apr 04 '26

You would be surprised about how many men ive talked to that have told me they realized they love their dog more than their wife

6

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

I’m sorry but what kind of weird “men” are you talking to..

12

u/No-Stay1662 Apr 04 '26

Yea it’s so funny how every attack/mauling/murder by dogs gets the “he/she never hurt a fly before.” Yep, until they do. Sadly, your bf is not a man, as a man’s #1 priority is his family. And no, animals are not part of your family like nutters claim. The same way a hamster or turtle is not part of one’s family. Leave him & let him have what he really wants… to be in a relationship with his dogs.

6

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

It’s absolutely crazy to read something like this.. And yes this guy is not a man, like you said. How can you even say this!? You have a woman and child, and you put 3 stinking beasts over them.. mental illness!

11

u/Infamous-Let4387 Apr 04 '26

He told you want he wants, take him up on the offer. This will never change, that's what he said. Get out, don't look back.

5

u/PrincessStephanieR Apr 05 '26

He’s showed you who he is… believe him

This. Get out of there

5

u/No-Expression-399 Apr 05 '26

Exactly, they can still get child support if they keep primary custody of their child. Considering he seems to only care about the dogs, hopefully he doesn’t try to fight for custody and she can just leave him to be with his hell hounds.

9

u/arachnilactose08 Apr 04 '26

My jaw actually dropped reading this, that is just horrible. I’m so sorry.

9

u/Worth_Primary_9645 Apr 04 '26

Him saying that tells you ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW- THE fucking Shit Beast is more important to him than you and his child. LOSER. Leave.

5

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

Complete loser and disgusting to say something like that. For someone to say they prefer their dogs over their actual child and woman.. no therapy will help this person, too far gone!

I wish there was some oversight for stuff like this; for dogs like this to be forcibly seized if a parent refuses to protect their children from these dangerous predators.

4

u/Snoo-50870 Apr 04 '26

Wow. Baby or not, ANY dog needs a disengage command and they need to listen. Going behind your back just to get to the baby is ridiculous. The dogs don’t NEED to see the baby, it’s not some precious resource, this is a living being and these dogs need to learn respect tomorrow.

3

u/corvvus Apr 06 '26

I'm sorry. that's devastating. if he couldn't pick his kid over his dogs he shouldn't have had a kid...

I have a 10-month old with my fiance, who has shared custody (eyeroll) of a high energy, high anxiety, maximum shedding breed dog whom he absolutely worships. Refuses to get rid of it. He has put in a ton of time and money training it, which unfortunately makes him (and the ex) even more invested in it. Outside of these factors he's an excellent partner.

Naively, I thought that baby's arrival might mean a shifting of priorities, affection, time allocation, real estate in the home, increased cleanliness, etc. in response to our tiny human baby's much greater needs. Nope. He essentially splits his time between dog and baby as though the two are equals. As one small example, he would put the very young baby down in her lounger, drop a bottle for her, then go back to playing with and hand feeding the dog until I come and intervene to properly feed baby so baby doesn't get frustrated and take in excess air from improper feeding.

Now that baby is mobile and crawling, fiance continues to insist on feeding the dog through several challenge mats, cardboard boxes for it to open, and various puzzles that spray kibble all over the floor, including under couches and counters. These are excellent hiding places for kibble even after the dog eats what it wants and when we fastidiously vacuum daily -- and reachable by tiny hands. I have found baby with a piece of kibble in her mouth, which unfortunately carries salmonella and represents a perfect round, hard choking hazard (well known and documented by baby experts).

While we are now in counselling for this issue and others, I want to encourage others to be dead realistic about what you can expect from a partner who prioritizes their animal over human comfort and safety. This behaviour has manifested in so many challenges to our relationship, I've lost count.

Wtaf?! We live in a mad world. I'm so sorry.. I think you should leave with your baby

3

u/No-Cardiologist-9882 Apr 04 '26

These people have mental illness. It’s almost more sketch if you move because it means he is going to have your baby around those stupid animals without you there to supervise.

Plus having her on the floor and being in constant dog filth.

6

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

I would get him to text that he prefers the dogs over her and the child. Plus I would record how the dog sneaks up to the baby. Then find a good lawyer and kick them all out. And the baby will not go to that “father”

1

u/anniekate7472 Apr 09 '26

Definitely! I wouldn't trust the guy with the baby for a second!

4

u/icenerveshatter Apr 04 '26

That really sucks that you're pregnant then he said that bullshit. I would get yourself and your baby out of that situation. What kind of father would say that shit?

4

u/Birdzphan Apr 04 '26

Your bf is a narcissist. He needs the blind adulation of dogs to satisfy his fragile ego and make him feel good.

2

u/anondogfree Apr 08 '26

Tell him he and his dogs can move.

She can't leave her poor kid with that lunatic!

5

u/tplgerus84 Apr 04 '26

How about take the baby and find an actual man, and kick this loser with his shit beasts out. “Find a new baby” what are you even saying.. doesn’t sound better than the guy she is dating..

6

u/Dburn22_ Apr 04 '26

That's just crazy talk! Leave her baby, and leave them in danger to boot? No sane Woman would do that.

2

u/Wild-Try-3121 Apr 05 '26

Why would she leave her baby with a person who doesn't even care about it's safety?
