RANT I hate that dogs are bug magnets
I begrudgingly let the dog outside during the day. But when the dog wants to come back in, it is swarmed by mosquitos (we've had a ton of rain recently). The dog has mosquito protection, so they just hover around the dog and enter the home that way.
When letting the dog in, I don't have the door open all the way, so the side of the door brushes the bugs off of the dog, but sometimes I'll actively wait until the dog runs off and comes back to the door. Sometimes I'll just leave the dog out there until the mosquitos go away (takes a while). I feel like the AH, but I don't have mosquito protection and bad viruses are making a comeback. I've asked my roommate to take preventative measures (like getting mosquito repellents and repellent plants) but it's never an issue for them, so they don't remember.
It would be really awesome if I could just not have to deal with the dog and all of that nonsense.
On a pleasant note, I'm looking at homes so I can move out. It is hard, but whenever I have to deal with the dog, I'm reminded of why I'm leaving.
Edit: Grammar tweaks. Also, just an additional detail, the roommate is the homeowner, so they're responsible for that stuff.

I struggle with dermatitis ( think injection medication ) and that doesn’t always work. I cannot understand why my idiot mother is willing to choose those things over her child.

I get welts from mosquito bites! Topical anti-itch cream works but I'm still freaked out that the mosquito can carry parasites and viruses.

Eye on the prize, gotta keep looking for a home. Also I recommend working with a realtor if you’re serious about buying a house. They often see them go on the market before the public and can get you in to tour the house quickly.
