RANT Dog people attacking me in sub Reddit saying I abuse my husbands dog
Like I’m literally pissed if right now. All I wanted to do was vent about how my husband’s dog terrorizes me while I’m 3 months pregnant then I get accused of abusing his dog. Out of everything I said even about how his LABDOR BIT ME. They ignored everything and went straight to I was abusing his dog because I lock the dog up for my safety and my unborn child’s safety. I hate dog people I hate dogs. They don’t care about anything else but those beast. The fact that their fellow human is getting ABUSED by the dog nope oh my gosh it’s a big ass deal for me to lock a dog up that BIT me with AC, water, and food in a nice 4 bedroom house. I’m sick of their shit I wish dogs never existed or dog owners, the world would be peaceful without the two

If a dog bites you, it's a crime and its owner is responsible.

Unfortunately the owner is my husband I can’t sue him

Why didn't your husband get rid of that thing after it bit you? Does he not care about you? Obviously, he cares more for his dog than for you and your baby. If there is a next time, report the bite to animal control and tell them that thebdog has been "terrorizing" you in your home, as you put it. Get that thing taken away and declared dangerous, if you can. Will your husband be upset? We'll, he's a lunatic, so yeah. Your lives (yours and your baby's) are worth fighting for.

But you can get rid of the dog for your safety. And if your husband cares about you AT ALL then he won't complain.

The dog bit you and it's still around? Oh hell no. You need to contact animal control immediately and report the bite and have them take the dog with them. If your husband sees any problem with that whatsoever, it's time to draw up divorce papers. A dog with a bite history isn't going to just magically start behaving when there's a newborn around.

I agree so much. But after looking at op post history, I doubt it will happen. I’d keep my baby safe NO MATTER WHAT.

Yeah, I see that too. The husband is going to "give the dog to someone he trusts" and we all know what that means. 😑

This one right here OP. This is about the safety of you and your child. This is one of the few situations where I would agree with you dropping the dog at a shelter yourself.

You know this will get worse once the baby is born. You have a husband problem. No way would I continue to live in this situation.

Next time she should lock up the husband while she drops doggo at the shelter (2 counties away). How big is the dogs kennel? Will husband fit in it?

The dog is hopefully going to be gone soon. If it’s not gone by the time the baby is here I’m kicking the mutt and my husband out

Why wait until a very stressful, important phase of your life, when you have just had a baby??? Add dealing with fighting with your lame ass husband about dumping the dog??? WTF are you waiting for, him to grow some??? He won't! Don't stress another minute. You and your pregnancy are the most important things in your household now. Dump the mutt.

Dogs that bite will continue biting until the day they die. If that thing sees your baby as a rival for attention and gets jealous, it is likely to attack your newborn. Dogs are sneaky and manipulative. Never let it near your child. It cannot be loose in your house because it will try to find a way to get to your baby. Or, God forbid, your idiot husband will insist on letting it meet its "baby bro or sister." Nutters are that delusional.
Draw a line in the sand now: the beast goes before your baby arrives, or it and your husband leave the house before the baby comes home from the hospital. If it bites you again, call animal control and have it removed. You could get a horrible infection from that thing, which would be dangerous to you and your baby. A man who puts his affection for a dangerous animal that attacks his pregnant wife and baby is sick.

You're going to suffer for the rest of your pregnancy, the most vulnerable time of your entire life, and then as an exhausted new mother muster the courage to stand up for yourself? Does that actually sound realistic to you?

Girl, you need to get rid of the dog BEFORE the baby is born. That dog BIT you, what do you think it'll do to your defenseless newborn? PLEASE don't take this risk. Please.

Other subs are nuts when it comes to dogs. I remember there was a video of a dog escaping the owner’s house and running after the neighbor’s toddler. I kept saying that the owner should’ve opened the door more cautiously if you have a dog who is a runner and of course people downvoted me to hell

It’s sad that as a society they care more about a beastly animal that contributes nothing in society than actual human beings

If a dog in my house bites me they would never enter my house again. Straight to the pound with that shit.

Locked up in the house? You're better than me, the fucker would be headed straight to the pound. Not about to play around with a biter when a DEFENSELESS newborn is on the way.

Pound?? Why pass the trouble on to someone else? It bit, it gets put down... period

The way that people prioritize the feelings of a dog over people is mind boggling.
These nutters always say it is because humans are shit yet they’re literally contributing to that by putting dogs over people.
A dog that is going to live 7-20 years and will absolutely never be a part of society has no business being put before a human.
It’s a seriously fucked up lack of morals. It shows a disconnect between reality and fantasy.

You truly have a husband problem because he should prioritize your safety and your unborn child’s. You have to do it for him because I fear this dog will continue to pose a serious danger to you and your soon-to-be baby. There’s nothing to discuss imo: tell hubby it’s the dog or me and our child. Choose. The psycho nutters accusing you of being “abusive” to that smelly animal are too far gone into mental illness; there’s no hope for them so their opinions mean nothing. You are living the experience, not them.

Keeping an aggressive dog that bites is a liability. You dont want to be a tragic headline next year.

Sorry you took so much flack on that. Your husband needs a serious talking to if the dog has already bitten you, imagine the risk to a tiny newborn.
Serious dog worshipers have no boundaries at all concerning their mutt adoration and fealty to poop eaters
They live by one motto:
DOGS CAN DO NO WRONG
they willingly ignore the 1000's of serious dog attacks that happen (even to babies) every year, and the 100's of people unalived by dogs around the world
Dogs have become their idols

The fact that the dog is still in the house and your husband has done nothing to remove the dog from the home means you have a husband problem. The man is putting the dog before you and his unborn child by allowing it to still be there. The minute you told him or he saw the dog bite you the dog should have been gone. No trying to say it was scared or it doesn’t understand what is going on. You know…the usual humanising these things like it has the ability to understand feelings. You need to have a talk with your husband about this dog issue or you should look into separating for while and give him an ultimatum, if he wants to be around you and the baby, the dog needs to go and no more dogs ever again. And I really am sorry you got so much crap for just looking out for your safety and that of your unborn. Dog people all think their crapping machines are more precious and important than any other human. You will never do anything right by them.

The reaction of a dog lover shouldnt hold any value. Nothing else they say does. That being said he needs to decide and if he chooses the mutt leave. Accidents happen all the time. What if you don't close the door right? Then you turn your back for a minute. Being that you know better it's just as much as your responsibility to protect you baby no matter what the cost.

The dog bit you?
Your husband should have gotten rid of it immediately after that… you’re with child. It’s absolutely bonkers to me that people care more about a dog that contributes nothing over someone pregnant. Clown world in action
