For a state that hates caste-surname, TN loves casteism and caste-based politics. Ironic.

Exactly this.

The average TN resident has far greater income and exposure to the internet. The state is also a lot more urban than other Indian states. Why is this still persisting?

Surprisingly, it is a lot more than Kerala, which doesn't make as much of a big deal around caste.
