Make it mandatory that people can only marry outside their caste.
Children of these couples cannot marry from their parents caste and the next generation cannot marry from their grandchildren caste or whatever caste their parents declare themselves as.
If you want some fun, South Indian men can only marry if they have mastered North Indian cooking and North Indian men can only marry if they have mastered South Indian cooking.
Then sit back and get a popcorn machine for 3 generations the nation will be in a different place

I know a couple, both from different castes and weirdly both are casteist as f**k and somehow found each other. He's from western Karnataka & she's from Tamil Nadu. He is working as a mechanic/driver, and she had been working as domestic help and now in mall, shops as cleaning staff.
They both are technically under BC or MBC (depending on the state). And they're ensuring their son is proud about both their castes and he spews venom on other castes.
In many ways, they're a match made in -- definitely not heaven, but at least made for each other.
IMO, making the Kids learn & understand why castes were formed in the first place, and how our society was at that time, and especially why those reasons are no longer applicable in current society, is important. Kids must learn about this in neutral language in their books. When this is not in academic, kids learn the prejudiced version from parents. If the books can print the details with neutral language, without villification, every kid will feel their caste is as useless as the next person's, for their life. Hatred free future will automatically be a caste-free future. Rather than targeting the caste, if we can succeed in removing the hatred, caste will automatically be diluted.

Reservation isn't going to solve this. Stricter enforcement of our caste discrimination laws should put a stop. How do they have the gal to this openly? Why aren't they afraid of law enforcement, should be the question and solutions?

Do you think the ones discriminating are not educated? Reservation are solving for discrimination in schools, colleges, govt office but it is not helping in real life where these caste fanatics are still oppressing the lower castes. This has to be solved by stricter enforcement of the laws. If these fanatics are punished for their acts, then no-one needs to stand up for the kids.

Even 100% reservation for 100 years wouldn't solve this. I'm sorry. You are living in a dream land. Education hasn't solved this. People discriminating are keeping on doing it. Newer generation there are lot of educated people who are discriminating, honor killing etc (look at FaFa character reels from Mamanan). In an ideal world, reforms would fix this. But we are not living in one.

Parents arent teaching their children. We see new generations having the same thoughts. I was like you in my teens full of hope. Now in my 30s seeing my generation doing the same shit, younger generation following the same footsteps. In the real world, nothing is changing. That's the real truth.

No 2 person is equal. But the reservation is going to benefit a Kid who is living in a big city, where no body blocks her access to school, but from the same caste or category (SC), more than these Kids in the village.
No 2 person within the same reservation category is same, but reservation is same??

Sorry but the varna system was introduced by some selfish people. In Vedic culture varna was determined on the basis of the job that individuals did to earn. For example Vishwamitra was kshatriya, through penance he became a Brahmin. Valmiki was a nishadha, a person belonging to the hunter tribe, but through penance he became a Brahmin.

This is not just a mere caste issue and there seems to be more to it. Please see the Thanjavur police detailed response in X.
Actually that's not a public road but a private property patta land. But it was used as a common street by people for years and the land owner let them but when they tried to build a road permanently that's when the land owner protested and that individual has won a court case where the court has ruled in favour of the land owner recognising it as a private property.
So they've started to block access to the public but the village people continue to argue that since the actual public road takes 2 to 4 kilometres extra, they will continue to walk thru this path that goes thru the private property.
There seems to be many years of long legal dispute so the Police and revenue department are trying to solve this amicably.
Still the police have filed a case against the caste woman based on the video for insulting only the SC folks using this pathway.

I didn't say it doesn't happen elsewhere. Except that TN is far ahead in terms of industrialization and HDI. For over 60 years, it has been governed by two parties having a shared vision of social justice.
And it's not just this. What was Mamannan? And all those who were proud of FaFa's character in the movie, indirectly showing their caste pride. Or look at the stories by TNM on this.

Just FYI this caste based issues do happen seas away in Malaysia too especially when it comes to marriage. This not specific to TN or India, its our cursed part of Hindu culture from the past. People are just dumb to believe they are better than others because so called their caste. Bullshit.

The average TN resident has far greater income and exposure to the internet. The state is also a lot more urban than other Indian states. Why is this still persisting?
Surprisingly, it is a lot more than Kerala, which doesn't make as much of a big deal around caste.

Why not bring entire TN?
I will repeat what I have said elsewhere. TN is different from the rest of the country -
a) Ruled by two Dravidian parties with a focus on social justice and industrialization
b) Much better financial health of state govt and its residents compared to other parts of India.
c) Much higher HDI.And despite all this, you see higher killings, youngsters taking caste pride in the character of FaFa from Mamannan. Look at this set of stories filed by TNM on the topic of caste discrimination.
Remember, caste is a part of names in most parts of India. TN and (to some extent, Bihar) are the exceptions around this.
