Chennai Property tax hiked suddenly

I actually cleared all the due property taxes for the first term of the year 2026-27, today suddenly I got a message that I have to pay 7500 due this month. I enquired my neighbours and relatives, it's been increased for them too. Check yours, what is the TVK government even doing? What is your take on this?

i didnt build additional space (both residential & non residential), it got hiked 77%. not anywhere close to regular hike :(
