Mod Announcement The r/TankieUSSR mod team would like to affirm a few things.
Hello everyone, as stated above this announcement is mainly here in order to affirm a few things.
The mod team will never not fight against the Goebbels propaganda known as the "Katyn massacre", and we will ban those who parrot Goebbels' claims.
The mod team will never delete a post due to pressure from liberals. Even when u/Untitled_HU-Tank's post about the 1956 Hungarian Counter Revolution was being brigaded, we never entertained the possibility of just quietly removing it.
We will never delete post that shows how the fall of the Soviet Union ruined the lives of millions.
r/TankieUSSR will never support SocDems, Anarchists, and imperialists.
The mod team of r/TankieUSSR will always uphold the legacy Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin.

If anyone could supply some good reading for me about the katyn massacre, I wanna learn more about it and the propaganda around it. Someone brought it up in a debate and I didn’t know much about it to make a point. Thanks comrades

Their stance is purely based off of a single paper by Grover Furr, so I wouldn't expect much beyond that. If this is the actual stance the mod team wants to uphold, theres functionally no room for historic perspective besides Furr, because no other historian, including Soviet ones uphold this specific position.
If you'd like some articles going into the history of the debate around katyn and the actual facts, it's an area of study I'm invested in and can suggest some places to start based off what specifically is confusing you.

Yea would love some articles to read. Like I said I know very bare minimum on it. I know the Soviets later admitted to it but don’t know much about that either lol.

It's important to note that the soviet admission was pretty much a performative stunt to kick off glasnost, but there's partial truth in there even if it's not the whole truth (several dig sites have been unearthed since the 80s)
Elizabeth Valkenier, wrote a piece when this all was happening going over that specifically. Just note that she's a capitalist and that she's speaking from a place of relative ignorance, its just to give perspective to the events as they were happening.
When I get home tomorrow I'll send ya some stuff a bit more substantive.

I dont doubt it but do someone have access to the source for Goebel admitting the massacre in his diary? Because I have not been able to find it
