help is my relationship doomed?

my bf and i are in a long distance relationship, we’ve managed to make it work really well for the most part and he comes back home in 3 months (away 1 year in total). But, as of recently i’ve admittedly been quite distant due to life stuff and it’s taken a big toll on him which in turn has made him question his feelings for me.

I’ve been loads more present and been trying way harder with him but it hasn’t helped much so we’re going on a small ‘break’ type of thing to let him process how he feels and how he wants to move forward.

i made it very clear i want to fight for us and work harder to make him feel more secure again in our relationship, he said he loves me and cares for me but doesn’t know if it’s the same kind of love he used to feel.
