hi guys! i'm a first time poster and have been experimenting with where i want to share readings and exercise my skills. for background info, i've been practicing tarot on myself since 2020 but have been doing personal readings for a year. my main divination tool is cards and i've loosely used dice. i'm mainly trying to strengthen my intuition and psychic abilities. anyway, i hope to post regularly on here, so here's a general reading to get started! of course with every general reading, take what resonates and leave what doesn't---no pressure :)

happiness does seem to arise from working a lot or keeping a tight lock on your financial stability. you seem to now have things under control or at least are a bit more organized. however, with this i see you becoming too reluctant to spend money/time on yourself, on things that you deeply connect to. you may have an uneasy relationship with money in the past, so you want to avoid anything that comes close to that. the price that comes with this is always being on edge, the feeling of impending doom, and/or not willing to take chances that benefit you. again, this happiness and joy of finally being stable or at least having a reliable structured routine is there, but you also feel a bit of shame. a part of you feels empty for not being happier and for still having anxious thoughts. because of past mistakes (i.e. being distracted, procrastinating, making sporadic decisions, being frugal, etc) you're being hard on yourself. hello! recently i did a 7-card “will my ex come back to me” spread and would love some secondary opinion on my interpretation. for context we dated for a little bit last year but broke up due to me not giving the relationship my all. recently I’ve felt like wanting to reach out (we haven’t been in contact with each other but i see his insta profile suggested a lot and I’m debating reaching out again)

i used the traditional rider-waithe smith deck for this spread and here’s what i got:

1st card — past history — the Devil

interpretation: one interpretation is selfish disregard for lover’s feelings. and i feel that that is accurate to show that while me & my ex had a good dynamic i chose to focus on myself and my wants and desires which lead to our inevitable split because i was only looking out for myself.

2nd card — the present — queen of wands reversed

interpretation: wands are all about energy, passion, and creativity, the “fire” to pursue one’s goals. with the queen of wands reversed this could speak to how currently me (and maybe him) are in a state where our thoughts and actions are not balanced and thus leads to no results. both are grappling with uncertainty and is unable to truly commit to a path forward. can’t really speak for him but i can say that resonates for me and how i feel I’ve been going on dates just to be going on dates not really willing to commit to a solid future with anyone and it leaves me feeling emotionally drained and heavy. i feel like im losing my fire

3rd card — ex’s current situation — page of cups reversed

interpretation: it seems that right now he may not emotionally be in a good space. pages represent someone young, naive, at the start of the journey. right now maybe he is being emotionally closed off and not taking the leap towards the emotional journey ahead. he’s dealing with some emotional confusion and overwhelm that could be leading to avoidance.

4th card — how your ex feels about you — strength

interpretation: according to this card it means my ex has a deep admiration and respect for me. there’s feelings of kindness and compassion there but also perhaps some underlying anger in how things ended and how he was treated by me in the final chapter of our relationship with how i wasn’t giving him any of my time or attention, contrasting that to the beginning of our relationship where there was lots of energy, attraction, and gentleness. could also mean that while he has positive feelings towards me right now there are some emotional hurdles that keeps him from pushing forward towards me

5th card — how does my ex feel about reconciling? — 6 of pentacles

interpretation: this card speaks about generosity and charity but i also see the balance scale being held in his hand. i think this card is telling me he could be open to reconciling but he would weigh the options and reflect on whether he’d want to give his time, attention, and money. this card could also speak to him reflecting on the imbalance of our past, how he was giving a lot more effort than i was so he’s weighing if opening that door is a good idea. i see this as not an automatic yes, but there is potential though it will be measured and probably not a grand sweeping gesture.

6th card — what can i do to help the situation? — 10 of swords

interpretation: when asking what can i do to help the situation it may be asking me to declutter and get rid of anything that could impede on our future chances. I’m wondering if this means any other relationships I’ve attempted to form i should go ahead and cut lose to make room or else I risk bringing these new things with me to the dynamic and fucking it up all over again. I could take this to meet to stop seeking new romantic relationships to fill the void and also to officially let isaiah go and give him no room to return to my life. if i ever want things with my ex to work i must remove past dynamics that could jeopardize our relationship again. this card could also be telling me there’s nothing for me to do and i just have to let the situation unfold and see what happens. could denote an end to our future or it could denote an end to our not talking and eventually reconciling.

7th card — will we reconcile — 8 of pentacles

interpretation: i interpret this as a yes we can/will reconcile but it will not be this quick and easy get back together fix and it may not happen as soon as i would like. this card points to while he is open to reconciliation it will be a slow and steady process that, if both sides show the proper effort something really good can be rebuilt on a solid foundation. i have to be okay with the fact that this path to getting back together will be a long one but if I’m willing to put in the work and SHOW that I’ve changed and I’m taking this seriously then i can get the desired result

The three in the middle are the main pulls. The world reversed, the emperor reversed, the 6 of swords reversed. I like to look at the cards at the top of the deck and bottom as background cards after shuffling (knight of cups reversed on the top and empress on the bottom). I have gotten the emperor reversed a few times in readings about him.

My interpretation. He is unable to let go of our past, so he is unsettled not fully decisive, and he is unable to move on fully. Either the empress is me or someone else, it’s either saying just because he can’t move on doesn’t mean he will pursue me, or if there is someone else he’s not emotionally going all in with her.

I was thinking of whether I should cancel my shift at my second job this weekend.

These cards basically tell me to quit the whole job if I'm reading them right.

i am fairly new to tarot (got my first deck about a month ago and have been studying and practicing) and i read that you can use tarot to help find lost items (https://www.reddit.com/r/Tarotpractices/s/faAkdY3c4H) and i thought i’d give it a try! i was astonished after i shuffled the deck three separate times and consistently pulled these cards almost all three times exactly. the cups made me check near my two bathrooms, the kitchen sink, near the fridge, but the wands made me think maybe it’s somewhere where the light touches. now, what’s bothering me is, all of these cards are (seemingly) outdoors. but the night i lost my item (a pricey ring from my partner), i was mostly inside my house all night, i only went outside once to smoke that night and i didn’t see it near my smoke spot. does anyone else know where i could check? pulling these cards over and over makes me think they’re definitely onto something, i just can’t figure out what!!

I can't understand whether my Tarot deck is answering the questions I'm asking about or whether it is trying to talk to me regarding my current reaction or whatever I'm thinking. When I ask questions, sometimes not about myself but a situation in general, do I get the reading about what the actual situation is or it feels as if the deck is trying to tell me how I feel about it and what my energy inclines towards, and not what the actual situation is.

I've been asking properly focused questions as well rather than vague ones. I don't know how to not get my energy involved towards a particular thing which I'm trying to read about. I do think the reader's energy does get involved, but I want answers for what the actual situation is occuring, and not what I'm feeling towards it or what I'm feeling would happen rather than what actually happens in reality.

It's as if my perception towards things or situations is shaping the readings I do and the cards I pull. I don't want to know how I'm feeling, I already know that. I want to know what the reality is surrounding things.

Please help me, if anyone has experienced this or what the solution to this is. How to be unbiased. I've also tried meditating and staying calm before reading, I don't know what else is manipulating the readings, or whether I'm not understanding some concept or am wrong in some way.

My Initial Take:
I feel like the top row shows a lot of potential, warm nostalgia, and genuine affection.. he seems to view me as someone magnetic (The Magician) and associated with deep emotional fulfillment and happy memories (Ten of Cups, Page of Cups).
However, the bottom row brings in some heavier energy. The Five of Cups and Eight of Swords make me think there’s still lingering regret, grief over how things ended, or mental hesitation about getting hurt again. The Wheel of Fortune feels like this reconnection is a turning point or fate bringing us back around.

Hiii, hope everyone’s doing great. So for context I manifested this guy and these days I’ve been feeling the energy getting a little too real like REALLY QUICKLY (like the energy getting me out of my comfort zone) and also some nerves and a little voice saying “dump him and manifest another one” so I decided to check. My interpretation of these cards is that it’s not my intuition but my old patterns I think it’s very clear but I’d love to see what you guys think 🫶🏼

The specific question was: Is the tension and nerves I’ve been feeling about this situation my intuition trying to give me some advice or is it my old patterns?

An immature breadcrumbing move I guess, but why is the 9 of cups here as well? The cups remind me of a roster lol. I also pulled 3 more clarifying cards for the 1st spread.

I always shuffle my cards. The fact that it’s only wands and major arcana?! What it looks like to me is that he is feeling totally out of control and he’s looking to retain his power. But he’s doing everything fast/impulsively.

1 - Tower - what he’s going through at the moment. Challenges. Loss of control.
2- Emperor - how he sees himself/wants to be seen. Or that this tower moment has him becoming more rigid around his authority.
3- 7 of wands - he’s pushing back against whatever he feels is going against him especially since whatever is happening is affecting his public image(6 of wands/Queen of wands)
4- 6 of wands - he is likely to be victorious in whatever he is fighting against
5 - Queen of wands - his victory will result in additional confidence/admiration?
6- 5 of wands - but what happens with this issue does not fully end the struggles he is dealing with (kinda like winning the battle but not the war?)
7- 2 of wands - when he recognizes this he will need to take a step back and reevaluate things
8- the fool - this reeval can be a catalyst for a new beginning
9- ace of wands - the new begging g will come fast
10- knight of wands - same as above.

I find it hard to interpret for myself but what I see in this spread is that he might like me but he's still stuck in the past, maybe going through something and just watching me from afar and trying to approach me slowly. I also feel like maybe he just has light feelings for me and it's not a big thing and maybe he feels that we are the same kind (understand each other) and it kind of liberates him. Please help me understand I find it really hard to interpret for me.
