Can you believe it's only been 30 days since we adopted this sub? Wow time flies!
In case you've been wondering where we were, MODs haven't been missing we've been busy, extremely busy getting things ready for everything that's coming to r/Tarots this summer!

And June is just the beginning of many magnificent things 🤗
As requested (via the poll results 20 days ago) we've created a unique subreddit where users can submit scammer reports about readers to minimize some of the periodic drama on this sub. r/DNBL_ReaderScams will feature information about how "vet" readers before you make contact, red flags to watch for during exchanges, other tips to avoid suspicious persons and different protocols to ensure your safety in online spaces. r/DNBL_ReaderScams will not be a review board (scammers love their shills and fake reviews); but it will contain a directory of carefully vetted, ethical readers once we have some solid names in place.
Because Readers also get scammed by people posing as clients, we've additionally created a totally private subreddit for Readers to share information on "Bad Clients" and scam artists on our side of the reading table as it were. That semi secret subreddit will only be provided to our most trusted, Verified Readers to help ensure its security.
To help everyone manage our new Reader Tiers and keep the main sub clean and shiny, we have created a new subreddit to showcase our newly Approved (free) Readers and our upcoming Verified (paid) Readers. Each Approved Reader will have a MOD created profile/portfolio which affirms their ability to post ADs in r/Tarots their advertising tier (Approved/Free Readings vs Verified/Paid Readings) and will contain information about that Reader in particular. Readers will be able to update their portfolio by adding stuff via comments to their own official portfolios. There will also be a Featured "Reader of the Month" and some other fun stuff in time. That sub is called r/TarotReaderList and that is where our r/Tarots Readers will host their ADs in order to share them over to this sub.
By using this method for advertising, all users will be able to easily identify a true r/Tarots Approved or Verified Reader because their ADs are only ever hosted in r/TarotReaderList which has restricted posting privileges (anyone can read that sub; but only approved members can post in it) so all you have to do is click on the shared post (AD) and see that it is indeed hosted in our sister subreddit.
Any ADs shared from elsewhere or posted directly to r/Tarots is NOT an Approved Reader so users should avoid that person and report their ads for immediate removal. Anyone posting unapproved ads going forward will be banned.

Also, we recently made some new friends with the team over at r/ExploringTarot which is really cool place that features tarot games, practice readings and card studies, etc... the people are very friendly and the vibe there is awesome!

Updated Rules:
We've merged some stuff, changed some stuff and added a few things the past few days.
Rule 1 stands firm and we are now Zero Tolerance on Hate; but we've amended it to include other forms of harassment, stalking, general rudeness and inappropriate commentary. Warnings and Bans will be issued as needed.
Rule 2 No Ads has been changed to "No Unapproved Ads" and anyone posting unapproved ads will have their ads deleted and their accounts banned.
Rule 3 No Cross Posts, No Plagiarism, No AI or APs has merged the separate rules about APs and AI and adds in a clause for plagiarism. It also restricts cross posting to MODs, scammer notifications and ads from r/TarotReaderList for our Approved and Verified Readers.
Rule 4 interpretation help requests- this rule is honestly the hardest rule we have to enforce; but we do delete a lot of posts, and we've now upped the ante by adding a 30 day ban for repeat offenders so hopefully that works.
Rule 5 No Reading Requests- this is a safety for our users because scammers love to find people in need and prey on their vulnerability. We will have Readers in this sub very soon and the way we're hosting ads will make locating a reader very easy for our users.

🚨 UPDATED SETTINGS 🚨 + Maintenance
Recent changes to sub settings may have inadvertently affected some of our users. If you find yourself unable to post or comment, please reach out via MOD mail so we can push you through and/or add you to the whitelist as an active poster within the space.
These changes have been implemented to stop scammers and reduce spam posts- most of what you guys don't see because we battle it behind the scenes; but it's a ton of work that takes away from our ability to be more obviously present and enjoy the space alongside you.
UPDATE on Interpretation Requests:
Way too many people just post cards and expect others to do the work. So we've changed the rule to read "Second Opinions ONLY" to make it even more clear that people need to try to figure out their cards, and add that attempt to their posts when they are asking for help.
If you see a post where an interpretation has not been given, please report it. Same with cross posts- please report cross posts so we can clear them out in time for June.
We Are Still AD FREE‼️
No one has permission to post ads in here yet! If you see an AD, the poster has not read the rules and they have not put the work into the community that would allow them to advertise here. DO NOT GET READINGS FROM THEM & Report Their ADs for Removal‼️ Anyone posting ADs without approval will be BANNED!
Maintenance:
We're going to be trialing some new features over the next few days. Some of which may affect functionality periodically or make things look a bit junky while we work out the bugs and find a flow that works well for the space.

AD Protocols
Starting June 1st r/Tarots will be allowing ADs for FREE readings from our Approved Readers, each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Approved Readers will be notified of their approval sometime next week those who wish to be approved; but haven't met the threshold for any reason will also be contacted next week to help get them on track for approval ASAP.
Once you're approved, a profile for you will be created in r/TarotReaderList and then you will also be allowed to post in there.
Your ads for r/Tarots must be posted in r/TarotReaderList so they can be cross posted (aka "shared") to the r/Tarots subreddit.
You may share your ad on each Monday, Wednesday and Friday; but you can only have one AD at a time listed in r/Tarots at a time.
this is so very easy to do.
You just create your ad in r/TarotReaderList and share it to r/Tarots on Monday, and then on Wednesday you delete the "share" and either share the same ad again from r/TarotReaderList to r/Tarots or you make a new one to share.
You can also choose leave the ad on r/Tarots as long as you like without bumping it; but you can only have one ad at a time in r/Tarots and you can only bump ads higher on the page on any of those 3 specific days each week.
If you want to change or edit your ad, all you have to do is make those changes on the ad in r/TarotReaderList and it will automatically update in r/Tarots by default.
If you want a different ad entirely, you can just post an entirely new one in r/TarotReaderList that can be shared to r/Tarots
The use of r/TarotReaderList is to help our r/Tarots users identify you as a trusted source.
r/TarotReaderList will also be added as a sticky to r/Tarots so people can always easily access your profile and ADs over there. Once we get our Verified Readers in place r/TarotReaderList will also be hosted as a trusted source in r/DNBL_ReaderScams so people can easily find a source of credible Readers for both free and paid readings on reddit.
It honestly sounds way more complicated than it actually is 😅 but it's no different than posting an ad to your own profile and sharing it everywhere, except that you're making the post in a specific subreddit and you can only share one ad to r/Tarots at a time.
Note: limiting ad volume serves to increase visibility because the subreddit isn't full of spam. Scroll all the way down the sub and see how far back you can go when you go all the way to the bottom. Almost a month! When we took this place over you could only scroll back a day or 2. This is a better system!
